I just watched a documentory on "The Other Side of Outsourcing" -- it really amazed me.

Smart, skilled, educated, english-speaking, and sometimes pretty hot workers are busting their asses for $200 a month in India.

It seems to me that I could move there, keep some shell US companies here and have them create an empire of profitable web properties.

Anyone got some contacts for me? =)

Sounds good in theory, but then you would have to eat indian food:food-smiley-002:

I think Joel Com's AdSense game was outsourced to an indian design team. Check that out. Or go to Elance.com Guru.com

But Elance.com or Guru.com are not typical indian freelance sites, overthere you will find a mixture of indian and other country webmasters! Probably I need to search more local... :)

I spent 4 months backpacking through India. I started in Mumbai, down to Goa, Kerala, Hampi - up the middle through Bhopal, then west into Rjasthan, east through Agra, Varanassi and left from Calcutta to fly into Bangkok, Thailand.

If you are up for it, you could definitely live there for 6-8 months a year in India. I hesitate to say live there the entire year because you may run into some bad weather.

I was able to make enough with affiliate marketing to travel for 2 years which was pretty cool. I'm planning on leaving again in a few months. It really doesn't take too much $$ to take such a trip, and I highly recommend it :)

Goa is party central with plenty of tourists. Although, the cops are cracking down on many of the raves that made the place famous.
