Why don’t publishers cut CPA companies out of the deal?

OK maybe $100 was an exaggeration and it's closer to $50 (assuming the offer converts @ 20%), heh. $20 is still quite a difference though.

Haha ok. I can agree to that for big CPAs. For such things, yeah, it's worth going direct. But after you max out the network's payout, there's rarely a huge margin(At least from my experience; obviously I don't always know what the network is getting)

Why is everyone dissing Zac Johnson? The guys is pure awesomeness. My idol. One day I hope to make enough money to spend my days hanging out in childrens parks dressed up as a superhero.

The reason why I like networks, they collect the money from the merchant. Would you want Smaxor coming to your door demanding he gets his money?

Who the fuck is Rosalind and Zac Johnson?

you got premium replies from smax and shady ..

as for scrubbing, i don't agree with it .. i believe a network can be profitable and grow well without having to scrub/shave/skim .. wtvr u want to call it ... believe me ... i know that is possible ;)

cheers

Scrubbing is legitimate = the removal of fraud leads
Shaving is not = making your pixel not fire on purpose.

Just to put clarity to the terms.

smaxor- You should begin a worldwide seminar tour explaining the differences between scrubbing and shaving.

I've normally heard "scrubbing" defined also as not firing for a lead(not sale) based on some set of criteria (under X age, under X income, etc)

Do you mean without the affiliate telling the publisher that? I can understand if it specifically states: 18-45 year old male traffic only, but if not, that's pretty shady.

I've seen this exact stupid question copied/pasted word for word in 3 or 4 different forums...He posts the question, and doesn't reply at all afterwards. WTF is up?

Uhm... no

Shaving and Scrubbing are two different things.

Nice try though, and thanks for playing

Thunderlips is right on. Two totally different things. For legitimate networks, scrub = dupe/fraud lead, not shaving off extra margin. "Scrub" is tossed around and misused so much. The term, not the verb.

Also, have fun working directly with merchants. I paid one affiliate over $50K in Sept for his August activity. Here I am, pushing Net 60 when we agreed to Net 20. So far, I've received about half of what was due from that merchant. My collection finger is itching...time to reach out and touch someone.
