I'm just curious as to why you would want to use tracking 202 when you could just use the google conversion pixel that is built in?

What are the advantages of using t202 pro over just using google conversion tracking?

Google's pixel only works on Google campaigns. T202 is way more complete can handle multiple domains, campaigns etc. Even if you're only doing G Adwords, T202 is easier to look at for trends, dayparting, and a whole lot more.

Thanks mike, in your opinion.. is it worth the investment if I am still in the 'noob' stage? or should I save the money for testing and just use built in tracking?

Tracking202 and prosper202(self hosted version) are free. Theres a paid tracking202 pro version that updates everything for you (cpc prices, conversions, etc) but you dont really need it, especially if you are just starting out

Some campaigns don't let you place tracking pixels. In those cases P202 can deliver the stats you need to measure your campaign.

T202 is free...you have to pay if you want to upgrade to pro...just go to this link and click the one that doesn't say pro...
T202 for free

The Free self hosted version is totally worth it. The paid version is way overpriced and not worth it. At the "Agency" level, the cost for 1,100,000 clicks WITHOUT API charges is $4899.95. If I'm going to spend that much, I'd much rather go with Dart for Advertisers. It's much more robust and last time I talked to Doubleclick about, runs $6000-ish for 1 - 2 millions clicks.

any help on this error?

Warning: putenv() [xxxxx]: Safe Mode warning: Cannot set environment variable 'TZ' - it's not in the allowed list in /home/myroot/public_html/mydomain/202-config/functions-auth.php on line 47

thanks!

if you're using tracking202 to track stuff, can't they steal your data and use it for their own benefits?

The script is trying to set the timezone for it to use. You can try commenting that line out (put // in front of it). But, really you may want to look for alternative hosts that don't run in Safe Mode.
