The BST section took some big hits in the last couple of years. I don't know about other users, but I stopped visiting WF as often once all the diverse and unique sales threads went down.
They shot themselves in the foot when they started charging for the threads. No sales forum activity = less people visiting forum.
Some token fee, for example $5, would have wed out the spammers and left out plenty of activity.
