Just wondering what the value might be if I created a page on Wikipedia related to the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines. My site www.thedesplainescasino.com is about this, but I have never written for wikipedia or about.com and I don't know exactly how I would promote my site through these hubs. Sugestions?

Do a really good write up and it could be a decent authoritative link. Make a link at the bottom as a resource for the article.

If done correctly it might get excepted.

P.S. Nice looking site.

First thing, wikipedia is not meant for promotion... If you submit a page to wikipedia with a hint of promoting Rivers Casino, it will not approve it...

So, forget about promotion on wikipedia.

Forget about promotion - yes.

But if written correctly you might get an article approved for the casino in Wikipedia

.....and have a nofollow link to your site as your reward.

OK. This is intriguing. Two followups....

I am spending a fair amount of time doing an objective, informative article on Rivers Casino. I was planning to include a link to my site in the references section. Just one link, since I am hoestly using my site as a source. However, there will also be several references from newspapers, cit of des plaines, etc. as wiki guidelines state. If the article is going to get zapped because I have my link in the references, that is showstopper. What do you think?

In terms of backlink providers, since my site is gambling related, doesn't that limit the options? In others words, are there really edu backlinks providers that will work with my content?
