News from The Associated Press

Probably the most proud of my state I've ever been. Don't get me wrong, plenty of QQ on Facebook today from people that seem to want a socialist state. Nice to see the people stand up for someone with fiscal responsibility.

I am interested to see the wave this causes.

I agree. People are going to fucking riot when this happens on a more country-wide scale as the Republicans take office, cancel ObamaCare, cancel unlimited unemployment, not increase SSI, put more barriers around qualifying for SSI, and other shit.

My problem with Republicans though? Instead of paying down the debt with that savings, they take it and blow it on retarded wars. There's no winning. At least Scott Walker isn't starting a war with his version of fiscal responsibility.

The recall vote almost went down exactly how his election went down. An almost narrow victory both times.

Democrats and organized labor spent millions to remove Walker, but found themselves hopelessly outspent by Republicans from across the country who donated record-setting sums to Walker.

And that's what it comes down to most of the time in America, it seems.

Absolutely! This is also why caring about who gets elected as president is stupid. They are all "bought" and corporations who bought them "expect returns on their investments." IE, fuck middle class, fuck the poor, and make corporations wealthier via policy changes.

The more that people continue to vote Republican or Democrat based on what they've been exposed to most (print media, commercials, etc), the more ordinary people will get fucked.

Democrats spent millions? Pffft. 30m is how much that douchebag spent to stay in office. Bought and paid for.

The only people who spent millions are repubs, as they were able to spend anything they want, while the dem was limited to 10k per person.

Debt Up $1.59T Under GOP House

"The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which took office in January 2011, has enacted federal spending bills under which the national debt has increased more in less than one term of Congress than in the first 97 Congresses combined."

Been thinking ever since the union situation, and now with this recall whic was basically a joke. We could be looking at the next republican presidential candidate.

As a fellow Wisconsinite - I have to disagree.

I actually agree with some of the reforms he did - especially making union memberships voluntarily.

However - the fact remains that he and his Republican allies did it in the least honest way possible. They broke the WI open meetings laws passing the legislation and in general have been slimy in the way they went about this whole thing.

Also Scott Walker is under investigation by the Feds for election fraud. He claims he's been cooperating with them and is not under investigation BUT he has a legal defense fund. You are only allowed to have this type of fund if you are being investigated for two specific types of crime. He is obviously either lying about being investigated or breaking federal law.

On top of that he won't say who is paying into this fund.

The guy can't be trusted. I didn't ever get excited for Barrett but Walker is a slimeball.

Oh look, politicians doing what politicians do. I'm surprised (but not) that society isn't more receptive to trying something new given how frequently people will express their disdane for their elected leaders, regardless of party.

There aren't many politicians that aren't slime balls. There's no saying whether or not Barrett would have been any less of one. Getting shit done is getting shit done in my book.

The only thing walker did that was unusual for a politician was he actually delivered on his campaign promises. And he did it faster than any gov that we have had that I can remember

I agree with a lot of his financial policies but as far as rights go, he is a pretty bad, typical overbearing neocon from what I can tell.

The unions had that state in a stranglehold for years though. He wasn't as universally hated as the recall made it seem like

Don't be concerned.... The fed will print more money...(the market will go up... then back down again when the effect wears off.. like qe1 and qe2) all will be well soon... The eu counties will give up more of there sovereignty soon.

The eu will have one leader soon, like a president for all the eu Euro zone. (first the currency... then the banks.. then local politics??)

Politics is the New economics.

I voted for Barret because Walker is a douchbag.

The only thing this recall election did was waste time.

Oh it also wasted money and has proven that elections can in fact be bought.

Some thoughts.

Walker people have been campaigning against this recall ever since the Madison stand-off for almost 2 years.

Barret won the Dem nomination less than a month ago. I love how the incumbent douchebag can spend millions upon millions for years to keep his little office.

I read somewhere Barret spent/had spent around like 4 million on this and Walker people like 40 million

This has to be the largest complaint among Barret voters. Maybe all the fags that wanted him out should have thrown money at him? Sorry but that's just the way the game is play. Could of, should of, didn't.

It's like talking about a major sporting game and being like, if only they didn't get called on that penalty, if only they made this play. Sorry about it but Barrets side was a lot weaker and he lost because of it.

Could of, should of, didn't.
