I'm trying to figure out a way to do this either with simple php or with plugins.
I figured there were some Wordpress pros here that might be able to help me out.

I'm trying to set up my music reviews/news site. I think I want to set up my categories like so:

News
  • Genre1
  • Genre2
  • Genre3
Reviews
  • Genre1
  • Genre2
  • Genre3
Now this is where I get stuck. I want to be able to display the latest News post titles from Genre1 on the category page for Genre1. And do the same for each genre.

I hope this makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated
 


I think thats almost what I'm looking for. But it doesnt support sub-cats.

Ahhhh - it doesn't have the option to make the post invisible at the parent category level. Too bad.

You could probably code it up pretty easily though.
 
Ya I might have to do that.
I'm a terrible coder so I'm going to avoid it at all costs though
 
There are a couple of threads on the wordpress forums about that particular plugin - you might want to try posting in those topics over there.
