Hi fellas,

is it necessary to ping your comments every time i post them to or from a particular website? I manually post comments and was wondering what I can do after that to make sure that the search engines update their indexes.

Some people say pinging them helps, others say just let Google find them naturally. I've never seen much success with pinging all of them, but that's just me. I don't think it's going to hurt, and if you want a good pinging tool, search the BST section for Megapinger.

If the site's worth comment-spamming, likelihood is it's regularly crawled by google anyway. No real need to ping, it'll already be linked from a main page.

^^ what -joe- said... but if you're looking to index links from a bunch of lower-relevance blogs, it's a good idea to keep a list of the post url's you used. Then, after a few weeks or so, follow the instructions in this thread:
