Wordpress Question.

I am going to develop one of my fuck up domains and I was wondering if when you install wordpress, you can install it in a folder of the root domain:

EX: xxxxx.com/wordpresshere

I know that you can install it in a sub-domain such as (wordpresshere.xxxxx.com) but that isn't very affective as the PR there will be different than the PR of the root site, and I want the wordpress blog to contribute to the main sites PR and SERPS.
