Each time a decent game is played I never know which footy thread to post in as they are mostly focused on one such game. The soccer haters are probably getting sick of seeing a million and one World Cup threads as well, which is why I thought maybe a general chat thread could be a good idea!:D

Few things to get started:
1) Since the second round of games have begun, the games have definitely started picking up. Uruguay won 3-0, Argentina won 4-1 and Greece won 2-1! Teams are definitely being less cautious now which is great.

2) Argentina 4-1 today. Are they now the favourites in your eyes?

3) England and USA both playing tomorrow - are you all expecting big scores? I hope both do well.
 


Can see Jose Altidore scoring a couple for your team tomorrow.

May have spoke to soon on the second round matches, France/Mexico game is a bit quiet (currently 0-0 @ half time).
 
Mexico is delivering some decent pressure though

EDIT: Nice goal from the wetbacks!
 
so far I was quite disappointed that there were hardly any goals being scored, but at least today Argentina managed to do something about it

Also you guys notice that without the vuzuvelas (or whatever they are called) the game is actually a lot more enjoyable?

If Mexico and Uraguay draw against eachother then yeah. I think if one of them wins, and France beat SA by quite a few goals (not sure how much), then the winner and France go through.
 
Enjoyed the Mexico/France game, couldn't fathom why Henry didn't make an appearance given it's likely to be his last. Shame really.

Had to laugh last night too watching South Africa getting hammered by Uruguay. Half the ground was empty with ten minutes to go, even the vevuzelas stopped. So much for the 'passionate' fans that the BBC has been ramming down our throats.

If Uraguay beat Mexico and France best SA, the goal different will be tiebreaker?
