As someone who does not code I find it a real pain to find reliable coders who do not either go missing half way into a project or put your code up for sale within hours of completion.

As I already have an overseas office I was thinking of offering a reliable subscription based coder service for people who need a limited amount of work done every month.

I was thinking of offering a package of say 10 hours for $75 a month where people could just log in and tell the coder what he has to complete. This could be spread over the month so you could have lots of smaller projects or a couple of bigger ones.

The benefit of this service would be you know the coder is not going to mess you around and you have someone at your disposal should you not have the skills or time.

The problem of actually communicating the issue that you need tackling is still going to be a bugbear - more so because you don't know that guy that you're sending the work to.

If you use one of the freelance sites you at least get to pick the idiot who will cock up your code for you.

I'm interested in the whole outsourcing game, and I'm trying to dabble in it myself, so I'm eager to see others' answers and hear how successful you are with this. Good luck.

The beauty of my service would be you could contanct the programmer by IM, Phone, Email etc and they will be able to speak real english rather than trying to translate something 100 times. They would also be sitting in our office so could not mess anyone around with the old "my granny died and I had to go visit her in a remote village" crap
