If you're writing ads to drive a arbitrage revenue through adsense, your ad copy should be as enticing as humanly possible to get them to the page. Once they are there, hopefully they will click.
If you're writing ads to drive affiliate revenue, you shouldn't ad TOO much fluff to your ad copy. Why? Because when they realize the deal isn't as good as your ad says, they won't buy! You've just paid for a click that was never going to convert to begin with. Use the ad copy as a "presale tool" to reach people who are likely to buy simply by giving them all the relevant information they are looking for.
You're not going to force someone to buy somethign they don't want to buy, so don't waste click money on exaggerated ad copy for affiliate offers.
