WTF do Facebookers click on?

So with the $100 free and all, I decided to fuck around with some FB ads...

50,000 impressions on a variety of different ads and I have 2 clicks.

So what the fuck do facebookers like to click on? Ringtones? Jeesssus.

I am new, but here is what I think. I initially went with Facebook to try my hand at writing ad copy. I got CTRs over 0.2% on some campaigns (free magazines, mostly). The traffic didn't convert, but here are some tips I learned (in my limited experience) for high CTR:

1) Images that contrast with Facebook work. Think non-white backgrounds with bright colors. If you find a colorful picture that works, get it into Photoshop and saturate the shit out of it. Don't make it unbelievable, but chances are you can make it brighter and better.
2) For males and females alike, anything with a hot chick in it did better than something with a male in it. Guys like cars and money and sports (thanks Nicky Cakes). I never had a whole lot of success with wimminz.
3) Your headline is key! I advertised a MAXIM sub once with the headline Chicks, Cars, and Cash! and got >0.2% CTR when I coupled it with a picture of a hot model sitting on a red Ferrari against a bright green ivy covered wall.
4) Split test alot of things. This might not be the best method, but I would take one ad and make 4 out of it, exactly alike except for targeting. I would target one ad to males 13-18, 18-22, 22-30, and 30+. Whatever makes sense. Then I could find out what age groups are interested in that product. You can split by In HS, In College, Etc...

Hope I helped!

set up some crappy quizzes such as "whose my dream date?" "who the fuck would i marry?" "when will i have sex?" -- you are most likely to get tons of clicks. quiz is the next fb shit taking over the noobs minds!!!

it's the current/past fb shit

these guys who made the facebook quiz making apps must be fucking banking like crazy, but they just introduced privacy controls to block them at the 'maker' level down.

Half the reason people don't have success with FB is because they're trying to get people to buy the same shit that shows up fucking everywhere. Diet pills, Dating, and Evony.

Ok, that shit does work, but only in a very very broad sense.
In my experience Facebook is about targeting, getting it right, and scaling... And free trial shit with a $30 pay per lead doesn't cut it.

I do nicely in a very specific niche where the average payout is 1.8%-3.5%... but we're talking on items that start at $2,000 per sale. Facebook is actually the perfect place for this, believe it or not. Now, I don't pull in shit loads of cash that'll allow me to retire off of it, but only because I'm too fucking lazy to expand on my campaigns.

Stop thinking of the same shit as everyone else, and actually think about what being able to target people by interest and demographic potentially means in what you can advertise to them.
