Also, when I navigate to other pages the pop keeps popping, you might want to see if you can only have it pop once per visit

Potentially a quick fix for this is just test the referrer property (document.referrer in javascript) to see if it contains financemoz then don't show if it does. This way they only see it on the first page they click on.
 
This might be just me but since i changed the theme my ad impresisons have gone way low (traffic is sitll the same)

conversion down to 0.75% and going lower

no conversions on any cb ads

seems like this "change" was not a good one
 
Problem here is that you changed SEVERAL things at once.

If you want to split test, do one variable at a time.

Now we will work it back step by step.

Remove the popup.

If someone is turned off by a pop up opt in promising a free guide to something, they're likely at the level of internet surfer where they're going to be even more turned off by a spammy looking site where 50% of the visible space is adsense ads and it's obviously autoblogged content, so it's sort of a moot point.

I mean, if it were me, the whole site is a 'fuck you' to the user so I would think the pop-up is the least of my concerns in that department. Might as well opt them in with the lesser of two evils before they hit the actual site itself, IMO.

What is you're signup rate for the email? When you toss up a popover like that you are essentially trading those signups for all your other traffic with the hopes that it will do more volume than your banners. People are bouncing immediately when the see the ad, which is why your impressions are so low.

The more subtle design changes aren't going to make a huge difference while you're also making huge changes in ad placement and volume.

Split test the green with a light grey. If you really need to dial this shit in look into running your changes simultaniously through website optimizer.
