hi all my seniors,
everywhere i can c the focus is on making a good landing page. But i have seen some affiliates sending traffic from adwords directly to the affiliate homepage. Doesn't this help you convert better since more of your visitors land up at ur affiliates website? If yes then why the focus more on landing pages. I'm refering to strictly PPC campaigns and no organic traffic........is it better to send the traffic to your own landing page OR your affiliates homepage? Do share wat do u think and advise.
Thanks all,
Farhan.

Not necessarily.
Sometimes, the creatives that affiliate companies use suck more than a 12 year old at a Mexican donkey show, and it's up to the affiliate to create a better one.

One good example from my own network is someone that's getting a conversion rate of about 1:5 on a $27 payout (CPA). We almost blocked their site for fraud, and then noticed that they're actually running an incent on it, with a semi-decent sales pitch.
Hot diggity damn, I wish they were one of my clients :'(

Thanks Harvey for the input. ..what i mean to say is if you have two options
1. To send the visitor directly to your affiliate home page
2. Send the visitor to your own website landing page and convince him to go to your affiliate's landing page.
Which one is better and why?
thanx,
Farhan.

I think.....both! haha, you always want to send your visitors to the page that leads them down the conversion path. If your homepage is just a page saying welcome to my site, then send them to a landing page, if you build your index page as your landing page then send them there.

The main point is to send them to the page that leads them where you want, down the conversion path to a conversion with as little distractions as possible. If you send them to your homepage and its not setup as your landing page, then they will probably either bounce or browse around and leave. So to answer your question, always use a landing page. word...
