After reading Jon's blog post and searching this forum for threads on this topic, I'm unsure where most people stand on it.

Do you think PPC Arbitrage is worth it? How hard is it, especially for people that are just starting out? Will it take buttloads of money to refine to a science or will it only require a little amount? Jon makes it sound as if anyone can do it(maybe it's true!) while other people that have talked about it say it's very hard. 1st tier or 2nd and 3rd tier search engines?

What are your views?

key is to keep track of your keywords. Know which ones are bringing in the leads, and which ones are just sucking up money. If you are using an offer from an affiliate network (eg: Affiliateer.com), most will allow you to append the keyword as a subid, so you can see which keyword has generated to a lead.

Without this, you can loose your shirt.

Shut up, what risky areas. You can risk $100 dollars and see how you do. Hardly a major risk. As far as I can tell, with Google's new algorithim it is making arbitrage more and more difficult. I wouldnt say it's impossible. But u better be damn sure u get a high CTR on your site. If not, your going to be losing money for every click u pay for. Or you better have a good site worth promoting.

I have been driving cheap PPC to a made for adsense site of mine. I am getting about a little over a 200% ROI and a 60% CTR. If only the volume was there...

This cheap traffic you speak about is related or is NOT related to your Adsense ads? How many uniques do you get per day approx. from this cheap ppc provider? Thanks!

The traffic is related, but like I said the volume just isn't there. For one site, very niche, I'm getting 100 uniques per day.

Maybe if I scaled it out and setup like 20 sites it could work out.

So it is hard to make good cash out of it? or is it easy? as for risk wise, I'm not talking about if $100 is a lot or a little, I'm just wondering if more people that venture into it lose money or make profit

I'm sure if you take a look at people who try their hand at any form of generating income online you will find more who lose money than make money.

I see it as you have to target keyword searches that other advertisers haven't thought of and then make sure the landing page stresses common, high paying keywords for the contextual ads. If you can think out of the box (cliche, sorry) in a highly competitive topic, you can do it.

Arbitrage is all about math. You need to figure out the forumla and run with it. You have to spend money to make money and there is no trick or secret to arbitrage. If you can figure out the math of it, you can use it succesffully.

Yea there is definitely no secret to PPC arbitrage. Buy cheap traffic (hopefully less than a 1/3 of what you get per click) and send it to a relevant optimized site with adsense all over it. The hard part is finding the cheap traffic.

okay i see. so its more of calculations than actual luck and risk eh. Lots of trial and error too? Is anyone into arbitrage?

Here is my magic formula for ppc! Do never pay more than $0.05 / click.
Make landing pages for expensive products, which the visitors know is expensive and ready to pay for! $50 is expensive enough. You just need 1 sell for every 1000 clicks to not lose money on that! How hard could it be?

I haven't started with this yet but I'm going to. Have started making a landing page.

I cant stress enough either about what alightpeter talked about optimized. Man people think they can throw up a simple site whore it out with ads and put crappy content on there and be cash money millionares. The key to have a well thought out and put together site. With ad's intergrated nicely in site. Also what is key is keyword rich topic related content that you are throw up on this site. That coupled with good arbitrage research will return some great results.

I run a few of sites that only get arbitrage traffic.

There is lots of trial and error in the beginning (what layouts get the best CTR, which keywords convert, which keywords pay out the most), but after that it is just something you check the stats on every couple of days.

cool, so alright peter, you don't have to be like constantly monitoring your arbitrage sites every hour or so?

dxearner: do you have arbitrage sites?

Where do you get good traffic for less than 5 cents per click?
The places I tried that were that cheap sucked. I pay about .10-.30 for my traffic.
