Why TV blows

MTV should be ashamed of themselves. Hey MTV? Your channel is called MUSIC Televison. Remember - you were the guys who pioneered all-day music videos on tv.... Now look at you.

Do they even play music videos on MTV anymore? It seems to be nothing BUT music. Time to rename the channel to like RTV.

No shit. This is the real focus of all shows that could have had the potential to be more interesting. American Chopper? Could have been a cool show where you got to learn more about the actual bikes, how they're made, history, facts, etc. Instead it's nothing but a drama-fest. Ice Road Truckers? Wtf is that show doing on HISTORY channel, first of all? Again, full-on drama and people-stories... yawn..

I'm on a tv rant, lol.. Ok, lastly - what is up with what they call the "Travel" channel here in the U.S. ? In Europe, the Travel Channel is actually pretty damn good. You know, because they travel to places all over the world. The U.S. Travel Channel should be renamed the Food Channel because all they ever do is eat and go to restaurants. :nopenope:

Thankfully, there are still two shows that keep it real and where you actually learn a thing or two in an entertaining way: Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters.

No shit. This is the real focus of all shows that could have had the potential to be more interesting. American Chopper? "Reality TV" is just a symbol of how shitty our society has become. It's exactly like Rome was before the fall - too concerned with superficial crap and drama.

I'm all for companies making money, but look at the dumb-ass stuff they are pushing. Jersey Shore? Teen Mom? (to name a couple) I feel my IQ dropping every second a commercial for that crap comes on or my sister is watching it when I visit.

Don't get me wrong, I watch TV. Only actual shows that have a plot and good acting are worth watching. Like NCIS (Other police shows are just annoying to watch), BONES, Burn Notice, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Royal Pains, Psych, Supernatural, Warehouse 13, and Haven to name a few.

TV networks should actually try to make decent stuff, not manufacture senseless drama from nothing. It just encourages idiots to go do stupid stuff to make a quick buck (baby in a balloon, octo-mom, etc.). Then again, it's the idiots in our society watching their crap that keep them in business and making more, progressively worse crap.

I have to admit, I fuckin love Jersey shore. The guys are funny as hell except for Ronnie, don't really care for him. But the other 3 are a riot.

C'mon guys. Hasn't TV gone out of style yet? There's been nothing but shit on it for so long now I figured everyone's resorted to downloading everything they want nowadays. I don't even own a fucking TV. I have a projector that I hook up to the computer and it kicks ass. Fuck commercials and all the absolute fermented shit that's on TV. I don't have time for that bullshit.

My other half and I are both big fans of White Collar, Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, Royal Pains, Tosh.0 and Dark Blue. Oh yeah you definitely can't forget Entourage. Other then that TV is terrible.
 
i'm seriously disappointed after reading through this thread.

it's thanks to TV we have a bottomless supply of retards to share their wealth with us.
