Here in britain mechanically recovered chicken is just the remains of the meat, skin, connective tissue and fat pureed much like that. I personally don't see a huge problem with it. I'm not fond of eating skin but aside from that whats the big deal? Most of that stuff is consumed somehow and somewhere. I don't waste any part of a whole chicken when I cook one, every bit of it gets used for something (aside from beak, feet, guts, feathers which are removed before I get it) and I'm quite a picky meat eater. I think people these days waste too much food. Its all dead animal in the end, I don't see why one part of it should be more disgusting than another.
What's the point of mechanically separating it if it's got everything in it anyways? Exactly... lies.
They are pretty damned good. I still don't understand why the spicy ones are only 99¢, while the regular ones are $1.19...
so what, almost 99% of all food you already eat has pieces of rodents and insects all in it.. whats the diff in this?

I have a friend that used to work there, probably the best "fast food" place you can eat. Fresh chicken breasts are shipped in daily, the employees trim the fat, and bread them in-store. Pretty much everything is prepared in-store with ingredients that were shipped in fresh that day, except the fries they come in frozen bags just like everyone else.
