Making Monies Online and Traveling the World?

as someone already mentioned on this thread, it might be hard to focus on getting work done though... I mean, being at home I have my regular schedule, it's easy for me to focus during the day as there is no other distractions really. When you're traveling you want to go explore the place, go hiking, mountains, beaches, bars and all that shit. Now I know some of you make money on "cruise control"... but in my case, if I don't work at least 3 hours a day... my sites will die. Although in Asia cost of living is so cheap, maybe 1 hour a day would do it :P

What are you talking about? Get your facts straight. I'm Dominican and I go there every year for 2 months, I've never seen any killings or been robbed. It's like every country, if you mess with people that sell or do drugs you will get fucked. There is nothing wrong with Dominican Republic if you are legit. Just stay away from Bani and Haitian border and you're good. East Coast is almost crime free cause no1 cares about drugs there plus it's like 80% tourist.

If anyone is interested in traveling to DR just PM me I know the hot spots and anti crime zones

It's kind of hard to argue with something from who's from there, but I was referring to Santo Domingo and danger levels are not the same from someone's who're originally from there as opposed to a tourist. If I go to Moscow I'll be ok because I know the people and how stuff works over there, but I had someone who just got back from there and was doing everything a tourist shouldn't do and almost got robbed a couple of times... (too naive)

When I was there it was prohibited to come out at night or to separate from the group when walking aroud the city and a couple of people that lived there and worked on the resort strongly advised against venturing out of the resort area by themselves.

I found the DR no more dangerous than anywhere else in latin america or asia...
Dude you're from Colombia... nuff said.. hence my point about complete tourists visiting a different country. Isn't it #1 for per capita murder rate?

I travelled only briefly for 2 weeks in Japan this summer, but getting work done was surprisingly easy, you feel like you're back in your domain while in another country and dealing with familiar tasks tends to ground you... so you don't forget who you are and shit when being treated like a god becuase you're an american in phillippines lol

Are you running your own server and powering it with some sort of Gilligan's Island bicycle generator contraption?

What I mean is that I met a lot of guys who started this lifestyle and never came out of it! Especially in Asia actually. I've met couple American and Canadian guys in their 50ties, partying like 20, no wife no kids and they visit their families like once every 5 years... not sure I wanna end up like that.

LOL, now you've PROVEN you've never been married... I'm desperate to get my last kid out of the house so I can get BACK there... :xmas-smiley-016:

You're going to live in Dominican Republic??! Are you insane?? I just got back from there a month ago and it's f*kin' dangerous as hell... Read the travel warnings... never traveling to that place again. If I was you I'd go to any of the asian countries mentioned here. I heard north is safer, but south looked like a complete shit hole to me
This post is PURE UNADULTERATED IGNORANCE, the Dominican Republic is one of the safest places to be in the Caribbean. I live In Santiago, I have for 6 months. I walk the streets at 2 AM in the morning sometimes just to walk off the "computer buzz", absolutely nothing even threatens to happen. People over here are very laid back and friendly and hard crimes are punished HEAVILY. You never see drug heads on the streets or gangs or ANYTHING of substantial danger.

Shut your pie-hole about my new motherland punk.

And I've been to Santo Domingo and many other cities here as well, many times for much time, the only thing dangerous here is the traffic, SHEESH... But from my experience, that just comes with the package in latin lands. LOVE THE DR!

Wow, a bunch of terrified white people that think all the brown people are savages, imagine that.... That's new. (Glad you guys didn't have guns like the Pilgrims or we'd be celebrating Thanksgiving in the D.R. this year...)

Living here, it just makes me shake my head at your unfiltered IGNORance. Your stupidity is both saddening and hilarious at the same time.

Troof. If you break into someones house and police are around expect to get shot to death without being trialed. Only time you would get jumped if you're wearing a rolex in the ghetto or people know that you're a drug dealer.

Santiago is one of the Safest and richest cities in the DR and I have alot of family that live overthere. All the South Americans, Canadians, Asians, and Europeans go to DR instead of Mexico cause it's one of the safest and cheapest to visit in Latin America.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: Plus you can pay cops off which is really handy in tough situations rofl

I don't think all brown people are savages and I'm not talking about the North, which is where Santiago is... I was referring to the south, but you've gotta be just a bit stupid to say that it's completely safe for a non native tourist (that's who this thead is probably referring to) to walk around at night in many parts of the south, many of the streets don't even have street lights. You'd be considered a soft target

And once again, NON NATIVE PEOPLE!! Even Kabul is MUCH safer to the locals and expats than to an average white person passing through...

And who the fuck said I'm white???.... ok ok yeah may be I am :D

Right....

CRIME: Crime continues to be a problem throughout the Dominican Republic. Street crime and petty theft involving U.S. tourists does occur, and precautions should be taken to avoid becoming a target. While pick pocketing and mugging are the most common crimes against tourists, reports of violence against both foreigners and locals are growing. Valuables left unattended in parked automobiles, on beaches and in other public places are vulnerable to theft, and reports of car theft have increased.

go laugh it up you fukin' patriot :action-smiley-052:

if I wasn't so lazy I'd send you youtube link with a documentary about black students studying in St-Petersburg Russia and how they feel about walking around at 2:00 AM at night... safe for some but not so much for others

Just started doing this - I'm in Thailand now - have the next year planned out with living in 4 more countries through next Dec.

I'm shooting to live in places for 3-6 months at a time, which will hopefully let me settle in and maintain some normalcy to my work.

If you're young, for sure get on it. Travel is an eye-opening experience that definitely makes you wiser. Just be open-minded.

I'm on my way to 30, but my fiance works with me and she likes traveling too, so we're in a great situation.

My advice, look for places where your money goes far - that's why Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Prague and Berlin are on my list for the next year :)

I'm from Australia.

I have a higher chance of ending up in hospital drinking in a London pub than in the cities of colombia.

Maybe it is #1 for murder rate, but there are certain parts of this country where a lot of shit is still going down, there is still a drug war going on... Tourism is booming here, you don't get into trouble in this country unless you look for it. People aren't being killed at random, you have to get involved with the wrong people and go to the wrong places.

Right....

Are you fucking retarded. The Crime that's described on there is about theft. Every country has theft especially if you leave unattended shit on the beach where locals walk around. No where it says that people shoot people at random and shit.
All the shootings are organized by the government or drug dealers. The biggest crime is just theft in Dominican Republic and all the thieves know each other and sell shit in the black market, nothing new. The only dangerous places are the ghettos and places where drugdealers stay at. /story

Dude you're in the PERRRRFECT situation. I wish my girl would be on the same wavelength. Instead, all I hear all day is "Why are you still on that $//$%/$* Computer?!!"
