Trent Reznor: Zuckerberg Should Not Be Mentioned In The Same Breath As Steve Jobs

Yea no fucking shit, or Bill Gates. Fuck I'm sick of seeing this kids name mentioned along side Gates and Jobs, the fuck is the matter with people?

This guy said it great in the comments: Trent Reznor: Zuckerberg Should Not Be Mentioned In The Same Breath As Steve Jobs

EDIT: I actually hate Jobs and Apple but Zuck couldn't carry Jobs fucking lunchbox, people need to get a hold of themselves.

sounds like you are just butthurt and jealous of his Zuckerburg's success.

Not a fan of Zuckerberg and I hate the inherent narcissism of Facebook. However, before you guys sleep on him or Facebook, look into the Open Graph and how they are planning on changing the way the Internet works. Permanent online identities, logging on to the Internet through your Facebook account, and using game dynamics to market to the world based off of their collective online profile, etc. This shit makes demographic marketing look like the stone ages. As marketers, this will affect us all tremendously over the coming years.

^I think a lot of that is bullshit though. It takes even less thought to hit a like button than to enter into an email list. At least with an email list you are showing you wanting something. I think a lot of the marketing will fall on deaf ears (to a point where it isn't as beneficial as you woiuld find to be worth it). Doing something like a "Like" but you need to type in why you like it first would give a lot better audience.

And I dont think people are hating on zuckerberg because of jealousy. I dont think anyone would deny he is making serious bank. I mean it is obvious. I think things such as his being called a genius for making a copy/paste LAMP site, his being obviously a total douche, and the overall atmosphere surrounding him and facebook is what makes people hate on him.

Agreed, but I think the Like button is only a very small part of it. That's the "get them in the door" feature, but there is bigger shit in the works to take advantage of the new framework.

^^THIS
So many people don't realize how much the FB Open Graph opens up laser-focused behavioral trafficking and targeting. Every day that goes by more and more data about you, your friends, and even complete strangers with your similar interests and habits is being generated, crunched, and spitting out increasingly detailed profiles that can be used to fine tune marketing messages. I am amazed at how far the "relevancy" of the FB ads shown to me each time I log in has come along based on who I've friended, what sites I have visited, what sites my FRIENDS have visited, etc.

facebook > google

Facebook satisfies its users by providing the super sick shit they're looking for.

Google promotes webspam.
