i'm looking for someone who has outsourcing experience. i don't have a problem finding someone to do the work i need done, i just have some concerns that i would like to talk about to someone that knows their shit..

Very good call!

I wouldn't go with someone that owns an "outsourcing company". Seems just wrong to me to take a cut off of an already ridiculous low wage that they earn. Hit up oDesk for the best results and cut out a middle "company"

-avoid the managers and go direct
-a direct va from Philippines 8 hours a day for roughly 250 usd a month (so your va can make 1 logo per hour so approx 160 logos a month = 1500+ profit lol)
-never ever prepay
-require a sample before hiring

this, but pay them more. $250 is the bare bones for full time over there.

I've gone through an SEO company in Manila and paid $550, do you think $400 is reasonable to go direct? Also where is a good place to hire someone directly? Freelancer.com? Craig's List?
 
what i'm worried about tho is trusting them ... like the work i need to have done, they will basically know everything about my campaigns and even have my CC information .. so how does one work around this?

What the fuck are you doing that would give a worker in Philippines access to your CC?

Because I feel like no matter who you go with that is a disaster waiting to happen.

I would say that's reasonable. onlinejobs.ph is where I found one, and then I had them refer friends who needed work.

run shit like mickey d's, split between workers so no one has the full picture, they're just doing jobs that make up the whole thing in the end.
 
run it on like basecamp or something, split your shit into projects and assign each one a different part of the project, so they can't see what's going on but their part. This way you can get 5 or 10 from Craigslist, from a pool of about 100-200-300 that apply and then just put everything together yourself.

yea exactly, this part i might be able to just do myself, it is not a huge deal if i don't outsource it...

but still the other parts will have them deal with my affiliate links, and they wil know my traffic sources. Also i would be giving them access to my accounts, whos to say they wouldnt change my passwords? then i'm fucked

right now the only thing i can see stopping them from boosting my campaign would be they wouldn't get accepted into any programs b/c they are out of the country
 
I've never had a problem with security, first thing I do is give them all my passwords. The guys and girls working for $300 a month just aren't entrepreneurial enough to want to steal your shit.
 
Outsourcing is a business that trust is the first requirement. Business won't grow if you haven't trusted the company that you're working with. This business has it pros and cons, you just need to find the right company, ask for samples and client references so you can decide.

I recommend going to firms with a proven track record of dependability and proficiency in providing business services. One more thing is that outsourcing company has shifts supervisors who manage the staff to ensure utmost productivity, besides Philippines is one of the world's most popular outsourcing destinations with some distinct advantages over other countries.

Not sure about oDesk, but if it's anything like Elance and others, there is a fee involved. It's built into the bids and paid by the service provider usually as a percentage that comes out of the final payment - this means prices are often inflated to accommodate the fee.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of providers, but a lot of the pros who have been around awhile avoid those sites for various reasons - the fee/cut included.

You might ask around for referrals from others who outsource rather than go through outsourcing sites or companies. If you're looking for a pro without a middleman, check to see that the individual(s) has/have a website and presence online. If your pros have a brand or presence, they are much less likely to fall through or mess up since they have to protect their online rep.
 
freelancer.com is another good one.. a bit cheaper than odesk, but maybe less quality as well
