Sex.com officially sells for $13 million



10 million too much?

Idk about this industry, but i'd rather buy a $10 ***tube site and use the $13 mil on that.

Oh yeah in regards to Sex.com there is a book out about two guys who were battling it out legally for 12 years to get the domain.

Wouldn't be surprised to see whoever bought it go bankrupt and have this process repeat itself.

and also how can SEX.COM get away with having a PAYPAL logo on it??? when they totally disallow adult in any fashion?? I guess when you own a 13mil domain it doesnt matter. heh.

Agree on this one, buy a regular domain, or maybe some for 10k and use the rest on maintenance and marketing
 
This domain has been circlejerked for over 10 years. It needs to be sold to an established bigger company. They would easily make profit from the amount of type ins and actually having a functional site rather than a parked page all the damn time. Like what Playboy did with Adult.com. They should buy Sex.com to add to their roster, it's not like they are low on cash.

Actually, Paypal accept transactions for physical adult goods just as sex toys etc. Providing they haven't been used before hand.
 
Way overpriced.. It'll be nearly impossible to recover that investment unless they resell it to someone else for more.. If you have the time, pick up the book sex.com.. It's a pretty great read on how things worked in the early days of online porn and domain registration..
 
just imagine how many viagra pills you can offload with it. the owner can easily recoup the investment. why make a video site purely?

sex toys,acne treatment,pills,dating....
 
The term sex is searched on Google 338,000,000 times per month. If you even converted only .01% of that traffic, you would recoup your investment in under two years and be rolling in it ever since.
