I would think about re-designing your website before you consider attracting customers, if I were you. Looks like it was made by a cow boy.

Your right GUTTA.

I've got a new site being built at the moment.

I agree that the website looks awful, but it is being used for somthing else at the moment.

To be honest we only use our BDP site as a web application portal for our teams at the moment.

this is why I'm looking for a telesales team to market the brand without going near the site.

thanks for the input though, It's nice to see somone on here who gives constructive feedback rather than putting silly pictures or comments to try and be funny.

Thanks again Gutta,

Lee

Have you thought about joining an affiliate network like AffiliateFutue / Affiliate Window / Webgains etc.

If you want constructive feedback you should not be touting for affiliate traffic on this site and other affiliate sites with such an unprofessional website, you will not be taken seriously and is why you have failed to convert on both Facebook and Google Adwords (as per your other posts).

To be taken seriously you need to come across as a serious business and I am sorry but your website (not only design, but also its ability to convert) looks and feels totally amateur.

You say "To be honest we only use our BDP site as a web application portal for our teams at the moment" but that is not exactly true is it? You have been trying to push traffic unsuccessfully to it for a while and also trying to pitch affiliates to drive traffic for you.

Get a professorial site made, split test the shit out of it and come back when you have a viable proposition for us, otherwise you are wasting your time and are going to get flamed.

Also some more free advice for you. Your company name and domain are totally counterproductive to your business model. If you are trying (on the whole) to sell B2C by having a company name like "Business Direct Phones" and url businessdirectphones.com will confuse the fuck out of your main customer. It sounds like you are specialists at selling phones to businesses and not consumers, this alone will probably hugely effect your bounce rate (on display) and reduce your CTR on text ads.

And also your SEO is so bad that if you put businessdirectphones or "business direct phones" into Google you are not even on page 1

What do you expect? Their header is made in Flash. The designer is obviously a raging lunatic. Have you seen the designers own personal site:- Home

Someone got ripped off big time. Especially when they like to glorify SEO but suck themselves at it. Look at the <title> tag for starters. These are obviously a group of "have a go" business people.

On another inspection, looks like the website was made with
Serif WebPlus X4

This gets funnier by the second.

put "businessdirectphones.com" into Google and checkout the site description for a big WTF.

Whooh there guys.

Nickster, I agree that the site was originally to be used, but as soon as some feedback came in, we decided to leave this alone to be used as a portal only.

This is why there is no SEO or advertising going through that site AT ALL!!!!

I go back to my previous statement "this is why I'm looking for a telesales team to market the brand without going near the site."

We don't want people to use it, I'm looking for a telesales team.

Any telesales team worth there salt don't use websites, as soon as the feedback came through that the website was awful, we had to shift our targets from affiliate marketing to telesales.

I'm not trying to get into an arguement about it all. We got ripped right off when the guy made the site, these thing happen in business I'm afraid but I am genuinly looking for a new road to market, not discuss the short commings of a website.

If you know of any telesales or telemarketing companys that you could recommend, please let me know as it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Lee

Also, stop signing your name and company at the bottom of every post. This is a forum, not a corporate letter. You're trying way too hard.

Then why this thread?

That was a week ago!

Dude, whether you are looking for affiliates, marketers, telesales operators (?) you need to have some sort of credible presence. Your site makes you look like a low volume affiliate or reseller not like a company that I would want to generate business for.

You need to decide exactly what direction you want to take and in the meantime get a new site made (with a name that reflects your business) and THEN go out touting for business, because right now you are in the wrong place to be peddling the wares you got (at the moment).

My advice is to go to the design/landers thread and find someone who can make you a kick ass site and go from there. If you want to get into the affiliate space you need some proper advice and I would take someone with a lot of experience and pay them to consult on your business model.

I'd think through this line of thought again and ask yourself whether leaving a shit site alone as your representation and presence online is really a smart move. Even if you don't want to use it as a primary sales driver, a bad site only hurts, no matter how you're running things.

No one's arguing with you dude, they're raising important considerations that you should think through in your business model.

If someone sent you a sale, what tracking measures do you have in hand? Have you got a system that can verify a transaction that came from a lead at both ends?

Also, noticed you are taking credit card details on your application form. Looks very shady.

https://www.businessdirectphones.com/secure/application_form.html

You also do not state a geographic address on your website. This is illegal when you are dealing with transactions and physical goods.

Fix your site, clean things up, give everything a more professional look and then join up with affiliatewindow.com

Far less hoops to jump through, far less time consuming on your part.

Or I can just place a banner/cut an upfront deal with you on my mobile site, or get you on the first page of google for business phones. Not sure either will help until you get things sorted out better.
