took 8 hours to create this 5 minute video, never done anything like that in the past. I think the footage towards the end is kinda crappy, too much shaking... Choose 480 for better quality

What do you think?

I love the HUGE Kannon statue in the beginning, very nice - but needs more red light district footage. Overall, cool vid, it feels like some cyberpunk city compared to Toronto.

I'm planning to live in Japan indefinitely in the future like the other Canadian WFer (SexBomb?)

and Bizousoft ;)

It was around noon in the metro (you should see it at 17:00), and the monorail footage in the beginning was at night, we were the only people on it. I was surprised myself. It doesn't feel as overcrowded when you're actually there.

Next time I'll go, I'll film something a bit less boring. The camera's too big for carrying though, Canon T2I, can't exactly put it in the pocket and go clubbing. Citites were Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka and Kobe (all in 2 weeks time)

If you have never done anything like that, I'm quite impressed. It is a little shaky but it looks more real to me. Or use a tripod next time or something..

Man, I'm going this March for 2-3 months. Staying with a buddy I met in college who's teaching English there, should be fun..

You'll have a blast

This was really cool. Any outrageous stories from the trip you wanna share?

Only outrageous thing that comes to mind right now is how I got savagely cock-blocked twice by the same guy in a club, thought I was going to get my ass kicked, lol!

My friend almost banged this Tokyo singer right in the bathroom of a night-club. He didn't because he's German and he misunderstood my English. I told him: "this crazy American guy in the bathroom was looking for coke and said he's being watched by National security". He thought I said that there's security in the bathroom, LULZ! We thought the girl was bullshitting, but she had actual music videos on youtube. The german friend is in the video 1:53 making funny faces. Probably one of the biggest players I've met in my life.

People in Osaka are amazing. It feels like they're all hippies full of love for everyone around them. Very friendly, laid back and always cracking jokes.

Dunno about racism (mind you I was only there for 2 weeks). For shits and giggles I wore the Japanese national soccer team jersey twice when going out to a club. The only people that were talking shit are other Gaijins, the locals seemed to love it.

Nice! Can't wait to make a vaca there.

You'll love it man

Thank you, I appreciate it

Yeah? How long you stayed / staying in Japan?

I was there for 2 weeks, but I'm going this summer for 2 months. Probably stay in Osaka and do internet marketing.

I really loved the culture and language even before going there, but didn't really know why. During the trip discovered 1001 reasons to love it. Have you been there before?

I'll make HD version of the video soon.

I'm going there in Fall 2011. First thing is going to Harajuku, Akiba, Roonpi and EVERYWHERE, probably going to stay up 36 hours straight pass out (from sake and sapporo) in a park or love hotel, whichever comes first.

FULL HD version, T2I at it's best!

Very nice video man that's one of my dreams! To go to Kyoto and Tokyo :). What kind of camera is that?

Thank you man, it's same video recording quality as EOS 5, which people use to record documentaries

Nice video, I love seeing pics/video of Japan.

One of things I loved about Lost in Translation was all the scenery and Japan landscape. Post moar! :)

i'm sure somebody could have done this for you on fiver

Hey, what's a fiver?

Nice video, I love seeing pics/video of Japan.

What you hear in "Lost in Translation" is EXACTLY how Tokyo sounds. Ambulance sirens, polices cars, car horns, 'talking' traffic lights and street chatter. Wicked movie btw.

I appreciate the comments about the video, I'll be making more in the future. The HD quality is amazing... Gotta love Adobe Premiere
