Some religions try to scare people into believing or repenting with fear of hell or punishment, so atheism's response is to call everyone faggots and say they're fairy tale believers? There's plenty of moderate, non-evangelical religious people who would respect atheism as a whole if it weren't for shit like this.
EVERY religion is based on fear which is why there are religions in the first place, because people can not stand being wrong, bad, or not have answers. A business, product, or philosophy without any kind of advertising is not going to get noticed in the same way as one that does. That is just how the world works.
Atheists have just as much a right to express their point of view than anyone else, if you don't like their 'tone' then thats fine, but they aint gonna dumb it down or water it down to make it more palatable for the dumb fucks that probably don't understand it anyway.

It's obvious that attacking someone's beliefs like atheists do will only make the people go defensive and actually strengten their beliefs and union, but atheists don't care. In my oppinion they're just another religion. Same shit diferent dogma.
Funnily enough, theres plenty of Christians who have become Atheists purely off the back of doing some logical thinking after having their faith questioned, so your completely wrong, it actually DOES work that way.
It's exactly the same as how advertising works, you of all people should know this. If you subject people to a 'thought process' or another point of view, some people will react upon it.
I'm not saying this is the best way to go about it, but it does work.
It's a dick move and makes the general public have even less respect for you than they do already. Jefferson was a deist, not an atheist, so don't even try to pull that card. Plus saying ridicule is a good weapon for the intelligent kind of requires your side to be intelligent in the first place, and most of these atheists that are publicly bitching are not the intelligent ones - the intelligent ones don't give a shit and have more important things to do than try to ram a lack of beliefs down someone's throat.

Dawkins is a jackass. The real scientists that aren't off playing their followers like a fiddle (Dawkins:Atheists::Televangelists:Christians, everyone remember SAT analogies?) are actually doing work, publishing papers, performing experiments, developing theories - not bitching about religion.
And yes, Dawkins has a scientific background in evolutionary biology, good for him, I support people getting higher degrees. It's funny though that the official stance of the Catholic church is that evolution is acceptable, as well as the big bang.
However to say Christopher Hitchens is a scientist or has any sort of scientific background is absolutely laughable.
Dawkins no longer contributes to scientific advancement and is nothing more than a preacher or pundit.

I'm not being a hypocrite because I've yet to mention what my beliefs are, and I definitely don't force them upon anyone.
I just want to point out that believing in agnosticism is actually an act of faith as the non-existence of a god/gods cannot be demonstrated.

You are right, Hitchens has a less a scientific background than i first thought, although he is a highly respected intelectual, not that that really means much.
I don't agree that Dawkins is a 'jackass' though, i think he beleives something, and puts his point across in a logical and methodical manner, nothing jackass about that.
And i know you havent detailed your beliefs yet, but you have mentioned your disapproval of publically bitching while calling Atheists 'whiny', thus making you a hypocrit, whatever your beliefs.
