XBox Kinect

I have one I've used like twice.

Have the bundled game and also bought sports.

I may get into it the future, but right now it's lost it's appeal to me. If you're one of those people who can play Wii Sports for 5 years straight you'll probably love it.

I'm not one of those people.
 


The serious gamers who spend the most amount of money on game titles, aren't going to be interested in the Kinect. They want to sit on the couch for their multi-hour gaming sessions. They don't want to stand, they don't want to wave their arms around, and they certainly don't want to pretend they're firing a gun, throwing a grenade, jumping over a barrel, sacking a quarterback, or anything else you'd do in a popular title.

Party game, yes. Serious game, no. I predict the Kinect will be in the clearance bin (right beside DJ Hero) in about a year.

Picked one up today for the step-son. I'm anticipating Kinect-able first-person shooters to come out soon and be kick ass.

I think they all suck. I really enjoy the controller for first person shooters.

For example, I don't see playing COD with kinect possible... or fun... and even being competitive.

Yeah I'm not sure how that'd work, but if it did, I personally would find it awesome. I've always dreamed of the day when gaming technology can fully emmerse you into a 3D FPS reality where you're literally holding a gun (fake of course) and you actually have to run/move (kind of like the 3d sphere / omni-directional treadmills).

Only issue with this is it's fucking big. If it could be accurate (in terms of you being able to shoot / aim accurately), and your movement in the game was based on your physical abilities (run speed etc..), it'd be fun I think.. Though I'm a fitness nut.

We're not there yet, but I think with improvement on these ideas + maybe 3d projection technologies, could be awesome.
 
Seems like the current games for it are more like wii games. It's probably part of their stategy to grab wii customers by putting out some of those "wii type" games.
I will wait for the blood and guts stuff myself.
 
It's shit. More boring than wii and even more boring to watch than wii. I already got fooled into the bullshit wii hype and bought one of those piles of crap why would I fall for this shit again.

Then again I'm a lazy bastard and don't want to move while playing video games.
