If you had a 2010 Corvette Z06 for 5 days starting in Detroit, where would you go?

So my buddy works for GM as a mech engineer in Detroit. One of the perks is that they get to take out the latest and greatest (insert joke here about it being GM) cars for extended test drives. He reserved a 2010 Corvette Z06 (505 HP, 7 liter engine, manual transmission, all options) for March 21st-25th. I'm flying in, he's picking me up at the airport in the vette, throwing my bags in the back and hitting the road. Where would you go?

Good q. Maybe shoot over to Chicago, spend a day fucking around there. Head up north into Wisconsin, through the UP (really pretty up there) and then back down to Detroit? Probably would be about 1000M in total.

Highway driving is boring. Find some place that has hills and great curves.

I'm from Chicago originally so I've seen what there is to see there. We're really just looking to hit the open road and head further south where the weather is warmer. We'll probably spend most of the day in the car, hopping out for pit stops and walking around cool cities for an hour, and then getting back on the road. We want to see how many miles we can put on that beast before we need to return it.

How about somewhere without snow? Like Florida?

Why even go to Detroit? The only thing there is chronic depression, rampant chrime, and Michael Imperioli.

Trying to think of kick ass roads you could drive through, down south where it's a bit warmer. Maybe the semi-mountainous part of the Southeast? Head down to West Virginia, maybe pop out to coastal NC (Myrtle Beach or something), head back west and hit Charlotte, Asheville ( <3 ), hit Nashville and then head back up north. Not sure mileage on that. Probably around 2k if I had to guess.

Definitely hit up the Blue Ridge Parkway if you head out towards Asheville:

Fucking beautiful.

Why not hit up Toronto? I'm from Toronto and used to visit my wife when she was going to University in Windsor. It's a 4 hour drive.

i Did that last year but from Miami in a convertible Corvette ( the one Hertz rents out ) it was a blast. Corvettes are probably the best american cars you can buy for the money.
