What up,

I know some of you guys have got to be running software programs on a second computer around the clock like I will soon be doing.

I need to run 3 instances of DFB Login and 3-5 instances of Scrapebox around the clock. That crap would leave my current laptop unusable for anything else so I will be purchasing another laptop by month's end, I just don't want to spend more than I need to. What secondary computers are you guys working with(for those this applies to) and how cheap did you get it? And most importantly is it working smoothly?

I use my old HP nc8430 for the exact same purpose, except I'm running 2 DFLogins, 1 scrapebox, Bookmarking Demon and an ubot or two.

I like this laptop because I undervolted it so it doesn't heat up and is dead-silent (I sleep in the same room).

I have an old ThinkPad for running stuff and my actual real laptop (MacBook Pro) on which I almost constantly have one instance of SB running in VirtualBox. Most nights I have two instances running overnight.

But to answer your questions: I paid about $250 for the ThinkPad a few years ago, and it runs like a top (running WinXP). I can use it to run Xrumer and or SB around the clock, no problem.

Just get yourself the best internet connection you can, and make sure you max out the memory in your laptop.

Windows based vps. You simply remote into the VPS and use it like a second desktop.
Head is spinning a lil bit, but I appreciate the help and suggestions. Any suggestions on who to use? I looked into one company but the weren't Windows based. And would I know a large or small plan for what I'm looking to run?

Thirded on getting a VPS to start.

Not to mention, you're probably going to go over your monthly bandwidth limit if you're using an American ISP.

couple of things on the vps

you said cheap and p-o-c. However, running DFB 3 times and SB 5 times will drain a fucking low end machine. I should know as I now have like 3 win vps's.

on a 512 ram win 2003 machine with a 100mbit shared port, your not gonna get much BW pumped out and your shit gonna run slow as fuck too if its all at the same time.

You need to spend some dough and make sure you get at least 1.5gb ram, win 2003 or 2008 ( preferred ) and 100mbit dedi port if you can. You can find these for about $50~ a month.

also update it the first time you get in with win updates, but then turn that fucker off when you down. Nothing worse then running all that hoping to wake up to a lot of done shit only to find out your VPS rebooted.

OK so I found Dedicated Servers : Dedicated Hosting Server : Low cost Server : Linux Dedicated Server : Colocation : Managed Services which is Windows based. Anyone dealt with them before, I have NO CLUE who is good and who isn't.

Just make sure whoever you use is comfortable with you running sbox on their servers.

Some companies like GoDaddy will shut you down. Also, consider the location of the server as it may affect some of your operations. I personally do ALL of my automation on a remote dedi server...

Yo E, who do you use? That sounds like something I'd go for.

Ive been using digitalone.com's servers for a while - dedicated though. We run several instances of SB along with other programs like BMD and AMR across a few different users. Buying another computer wouldn't be the best way to do wgphat you're trying to do.
