I don't know whether I can be arsed to watch this. The first one was very good, but the second was sanctimonious bullshit. I'll watch in in bed later maybe.

Just watched it, the main focus is on renewable energy sources and creating a resource based economy. Not as good as the first two imo.

This is an interesting video. The first half of it goes over the usual libertarian angst about the global financial system and other social problems, which is pretty interesting and on key. However, their solution to these problems? *drumroll* A centrally planned economy.

News flash, they tried that in China. Doesn't work.

It's the exact opposite.

Hmm, forcing people to produce goods in areas to minimize freight costs is centrally planned and ignoring comparative advantage. And anyway, any of these schemes need to be planned by a central government, otherwise, how are you going to coordinate all these people?

whats wrong with that, it would remove the need for different economies to compete, as the level of import/export would be balanced fairly.

I dont think we will see this within the next 100 years, but We can start to educate people today & show them that the consumption lifestyle we have now cannot continue for much longer.

The thing that caught my imagination the most, is a 100% computerized work force (apart from few volunteers needed to fix errors). sheesh imagine that. I think it would be great, their would be no need for a workforce, and there would be no need for money.

Centrally controlled economy will kill Affiliate Marketing as we know it.

Free market baby.

If you owned an island with 50,000 population, and neither you or your people had the option to leave that island, what sort of political and social systems would you put in place.

If you control the people and choose whats best for your own interests. the people will eventually revolt.

Didn't watch this movie (I don't want to watch socialist propaganda), but for a while I've thought this will be the ultimate fate of humanity.

Eventually AI will be made which is smarter than humans. This AI would be able to improve itself at a rapidly accelerating pace (since this AI would improve itself, the rate of future improvements would compound as its improvements make itself smarter and smarter; read about singularity) meaning that the costs of computer labor will become virtually nothing (a $1000 computer will eventually be able to do the work of 1,000 human workers), and there would be no need for human labor.

Bread and circuses is the future for humanity.
