NEW Facebook Ads

Sigh.. Going to give Facebook another chance. Looking to do research with competitive ads, but i don't have a good way to see enough ads. Is there a good scraper/site with facebook ads?

well appreciated..

I wish I could say it was some amazing skills my crew and I have that no one else does but that's not the case.

Just make sure you demo target exactly, understand the demo's sensibilities, tell the surfer exactly what he can expect from the site, and make sure the site matches the ad copy perfectly. If they get exactly what you prepare them for they sign up quickly.

That's all. No excessive boobies needed. Actually, the less skin the better the epcs usually. When you have super high epc's you don't have to play the skin battle on Facebook trying to get stuff approved. That wastes a lot of time. Yours and theirs.

Super high CTR is great, but it's not the main goal. A moderate CTR with a mega EPC is what you want. The ads last much longer too.

mrbravo: bravo!

Is there any way to get around Facebook not accepting a 15-digit credit card number?

My Amex card has 15 digits, not the usual 16 that all Visa and MasterCard cards have. It keeps saying "Please make sure your credit card number is correct".

This is a US dollar account, so should be able to process Amex cards and the Amex icon is selected on the form, so its recognising it.

regarding split testing same offer on different networks: so glad i took that advice...after a 3 day trial, i am getting .35 EPCs on the suspect network and .60 epc on the new network! definite scrubbing going on here. im going to drop out of the other network after my next big payment so they dont suspect...fucking fuckers.

Not always the network's fault.

Are the landing pages exactly the same?

Is the conversion criteria exactly the same? Sometimes pixels are placed in different places along the conversion process - single opt-in vs double opt-in, vs some days of activity, vs first purchase, vs download, vs credit card info vs profile creation etc.

Could also be a tracking problem - different redirects, different tracking platforms etc.
Could be the advertiser scrubbing the network due to quality issues.

Don't be quick to always blame the network.

... Then again. Could just be the network screwing you.

Hm I've always used my Amex on there without any problems. You probably already know this, but are you sure you have the right security verification code in considering it's on the front of the card with Amex?

My card has the 3 digit security verification code on the back, I use it on other websites without a problem. And the error is definitely given for the card number, not the security code.

Is your Amex card number 15 or 16 digits?

Perhaps the problem is that the card was issued in Australia.

Actually, I've used this card before, not sure if it was with the same Facebook account. Just checked some old statements, and there are Facebook charges. This account accepts my Visa and Mastercard cards without a problem.

I know you can only use Amex with a US dollar account (which this one is). Maybe there are some other conditions, like you need a 'trusted' account, due to people using those amex business card coupons or something.

EDIT: after all that, just tried the card again and it worked fine. triple checked it last time, so looks like a temporary facebook issue.

anyone noticed for 29th Jan, FB showing $0 spent even when you actually spent money. Also showing no clicks or any data for that day. bug?

Mines 15 and works fine on FB - but my security code is on the front and 4 digits. All amexs I've had are 4 digits and always on the front.
