I'm trying to find out a way to watch multiple media files at once. I want to watch 4-5 movies at the same time for a project I am working on. I can do this with my .avi files through Quicktime Player, but the audio only gets enabled for one window and the rest are muted. Also, I'm looking for media player that can open multiple windows for my .mkv files. Again, I would like to enable audio for multiple movies, but I could settle for less.

Anybody know a good media player that allows this??

Did you try VLC?

Click on Settings->Preferences->Advanced-> Make sure that "One instance when started from File" is not checked.

And I buy moisturizer in bulk to keep my skin soft.

Anyway, I use Media Player Classic for these types of "projects". It can play any moving picture format in existence, it's lightweight, and it's free.

EDIT: You have to enable a setting for multiple windows on MPC as well.

Well it wasn't working in VLC. I don't see that option listed under Settings->Preferences->Advanced...

I have attached a screen-shot of said vlc path. Am I missing something here or is your VLC for a different os or something?
