Thanks for taking the time. I'm a recent Copeac affiliate and have a short list of programs I want to try.

One thing I've never been able to figure out is how to market those $1 to $2 lead items without large email campaigns. Can those offers be effective with ppc or some other method?

What are some good resources for helping improve ad copy? How do you figure out which copy is doing better or worse (testing ad copy)?

Thanks for this!

I got one for you. What threshold is there that you've seen amongst aff networks for sites that offer incentives. I know many ask you if your site offers any incentives and to describe them, but I'm always weary to be honest about it if it applies to me. What kind of well performing incentive offers do you see get widely approved by the advertisers and which ones do you see get snuffed. Its tough for an affiliate to know where to draw the line when starting an incentive driven campaign. Any advice?

It is hard to monetize email/zip submits through PPC but doable. Conversion rates are usually less in PPC than in email. I have suggested before that you might want to bid on news related keywords. Britney Spears entered rehab today. Bid on Britney Spears in Rehab and build a site thats a voting page. Do you think Britney should lose custody of her kids due to being in rehab? Vote now and win a free such and such gift card.

Reason for news terms is they are cheap since no one is bidding on it yet, and the volume is there with all the media outlets covering the story.

Have someone read your copy. Some people have a knack for picking good copy. Also if your doing PPC i know Google will give you CTR's for the ads. Make like 10 ads and change one word in each ad to hone in on whats working. Which ever ad has the higher CTR compare it to the Lowest and draw a conclusion.

A lot of time i say go with your gut, unless your gut feeling is always wrong then go with the opposite.

I think if you offer cash as an incentive its going to be frowned upon as someone will fill the offer out for the money. Try offering points or prizes that are not cash. Mypoints.com is a good example of an incentive site that finds the balance between quality for its advertisers and value for its users.

For any incentive i would say stay away from offering cash, its a solid invitation for fraud and bad leads/sales for the advertiser.

I'm reading, I'm reading. Right now, I'm reading the Caples book "Tested Advertising Methods".

Stop reading and do. most books are bullshit, real life testing is what matters. Chances are you will fail, but learn from your mistakes. And as always IM me with your copy if you want help.

Also when you write copy be confident that what you're writing is the best, even if in the end it sucks. your confidence will come through in your copy and most likely help you out.

Sell only one product on the page - or make a site that lists related products (ie health, etc.) each product with its own landing page?

Do aff programs for prescription pills work as well as other aff programs?

A long one page layout (like many ebook, download, etc. pages), or a 4-5 page site that ends near the screen break with many subtopics and informational links (ie Hoodia Diet Review) ?

Thanks a lot for this!

thanks!

But...I like to read...

Actually, I'm pretty happy with my ad copy for being a n00b, I just wanted to participate. :D You know you're my hero MK!

Loaded question. It depends on the offer. Test it with one product, test it with a side by side comparison of two products. Or if the product has different price levels position it as three choices.

Restaurants sell small medium and large drinks for a reason. Its all packaging, their goal is to really sell the medium not the large, most margin is made on the medium drink but the choices are offered to help you feel like you had a say, however its designed to get you to buy what they want.

Car washes are the same thing, there is the basic, the silver and the gold.... which one do most people get?

I dont know much about RX stuff. Maybe ILC can chime in here.

Shit i dont know. Ask your affiliate managers. Ask one network, then ask another, then ask a third. Cut what they say in half. There is your conversion :)

Ass kissing gets you no where, get to work. Your earnings are pathetic :)

Nice job Mike keep the momentum up. If you want a good book to read buy a book called from good to great, i just read it this weekend, i thought it was good motivation.

Who do I have to get a noob here to blow so that I could participate with Copeac? I've sent my app some time ago. I spoke with this Alex person and he told me that he approved me and was handing me off to someone else. That person was going to contact me. I never got word. So if anyone here could get me the right person to speak with at Copeac I would truly appreciate it.

Is it worthwhile contracting out landing pages or in your experience is it a waste of time?

i have an in-house design team so i never dealt with contracting stuff like that out. However, i believe that you should outsource anything you cant do yourself or work thats a waste of time. I have a word document of 20,000 keywords that i am going to bid on, but i need to get the words in excel or CSV, the grunt work is outsourced to cheap labor. the in-house manpower is spent on high impact, high return tasks.
