the official death of dubstep

If Dubstep dies I will smile quite happily. Even the name annoys me.

Edit: That Britney tune isn't dubstep in any way shape or form.

-God-; I didn't listen to the whole thing, but it has the wobbling bassline no? Maybe not a quintessential track but definately incorporating elements of the style; I think that is the complaint here basicly...

Edit; Nah, this is more typical trance/progressive basicly...

Edit; wait a minute there are some wobbles at about 2:20, back to trance after that though...

Clearly the digital producers have a strong presence within this thread ..

Didn't listen that far in and yeah it's more like some Euro-pop house, sure it has "wobbles" but then it was doing the rounds in a big way in house of the late 90s (y2k, Distinctive Breaks and the Nu Skool movement) before dubstep even became a genre. :)

In many ways it sounds more like a cheesey copy of some of Jan Driver's work, with an obvious attack on the bass. Besides, dubstep simply can't be "4 to the floor", it's not where it came from or what it's about (in my opinion), wobbles or not! :D
