its not really about how much you make, it's what you do with the money. a smart web developer can make 10x as much as as an "affiliate network owner" if he knows how to invest it. also, someone with actual skills (programmer, doctor, engineer, etc) will still be bringing in new capital long after the SEO's "secrets" and social media have failed.

Websites that don't convert (make money, get leads etc.) are a waste--no matter how much "work" went into creating them. Maybe the SEO makes more $$ because he get results. I think the jury is still out on the real ROI of social media.

Social media experts don't make shit. C'mon now. An SEO expert's income potential is virtually limitless. A "social media expert" is only going to make as much as Coca-Cola or whoever is going to pay them.

If there are "social media marketing experts" out there that are making bank, it's because they're pro hustlers first and foremost. It's not like these jobs are in high-demand, it's the sonbitches that are smooth on the phone or in person closing the $10k / mo consulting retainers. Someone like that could bank just as hard selling web dev or SEO services.

Someone explain why most "Social Network Experts" are dyke looking WOMEN.

"Amy DeLardi, social networking expert, listens to the panelists during the Women's Business Bazaar career workshop hosted at the Burr Homestead on Thursday"
