Ever heard of this continent called Europe? With WHITE EUROPEAN MUSLIMS, who don't wear towels on their heads and carry uzis? They hold regular jobs at the office, don't speak a lick of Arabic and are just trying to live in peace.
Back when I lived in NJ, our neighbors were Muslim. They were the nicest people, real polite and helpful. They watched football, played basketball, had cookouts.
They were regular-ass people, except their food was much better, they were well-educated, fairly wealthy corporate drones.
Oh, and they were immigrants too.
Honestly, I think all this anti-Muslim sentiment is just a result of not being exposed to other cultures/not getting to know your neighbors/not living in a multi-ethnic community.
I think we can talk it out and sort out the problems Muslims have with the West. Most of it revolves around the whole Israel/Palestine fiasco. And most smart Muslims know it's the Palestinians causing all the bullshit with their suicide bombings and rocket attacks on civilians.
The rest are dumb Muslims who have no goals in life so they cling to fundamentalism because it fills that vacuum.

If a white muslim was sitting next to me on the train with my kid, there would be no way I would know it. It would be risk I could not control, since I didnt see it or know about it. If I sat next to Belle Sorenson Gunness in the same train, I wouldnt know she was a serial killer either. This is risk I cant control since I dont sense it or see it upfront. Just like riding on that train and not know it was about to derail.

Having an objective awareness is far more effective and intelligent than just fearing everything of what you might call the same ilk. Ya know awareness saves lives too. The difference is that awareness doesn't create fear, that's why it's called awareness. Being AWARE of something. You might also call it street smarts.
Try walking around Brooklyn at night full of fear and see how far you get. I bet you won't last very long at all. Try walking around with awareness and you will go a lot farther I guarantee.
