This past week and a half is arguably the hardest time I've gone through (in recent memory), so it got me thinking: what's the worst shit you've been through--that you can remember? I'm sure there is someone who can put this into perspective for me, I'll start.

This past week and a half:

-Friend died
-Lost tons of sites/content rankings and consequently a lot of income
-Learned of potential lawsuit
-Fuck ton of small problems, i.e. ridiculous car problems, fights with people, etc.

I'm actually pretty sure I'm leaving some stuff out, but this past week and a half has been unreal for me. Someone want to top me?

last new years (2009/2010) eve eve was visiting family in another state. On the way back to condo where we were staying was by another car. We spun out of control on the interstate and landed on the side of the road physically unharmed, but mentally fucked. The girl that hit us was 26 and lost control of her vehicle and landed in a tree. She was died on the scene.

2 days later my grandmother that practically raised me died after years of battling heart problems.

Worst vacation of all time.

last year or so ending three/four months back... stronger for it. really helps you appreciate how good regular life is too

That's fucked up man. The last week or so the last thing on my mind is work really, just want to be around family mostly given how many people seem to be dying lately. That's a nightmare situation though, egh.

Sorry to hear about your friend. That sucks, remember the good times. Business is business. If you did it once before you can do it again. Don't worry about the lawsuit until you get served, you'll lose too much sleep.

May 2006:

May 18 I quit a 90k a year job.

On May 19 our dog of 10 years was hit in front of us and the driver sped away, squealing their tires as we watched in horror.

The next day my step-dad died from an overdose of pills (this was his birthday) while my little brother played video games in the next room.

May 22 my step brother and best friend were killed in a fiery head-on collision as a result of a drunk driver apparently playing chicken with everyone on the road. The same day my relationship with my fiance (4 years together) ended because she said I was a baby for being upset and she had much worse problems (she didn't, was just selfish.)

May 23 my mom (forced to work because of her sense of obligation to her boss) had her life threatened at the donut shop where she worked by a local drug-dealer cause she kicked he and his friends out of the donut shop she worked at.

The next day she was rushed to emerg suffering from a nasty heart attack brought on by all the stress.

May 24 saw another friend of mine die from a massive heart attack brought on by a childhood condition...this was preceded by his sister's death 40 days earlier.

May 25 was a brighter day. :D

Buck up vondoobie, things will get better for sure man.

Jesus. Brofist man, sorry to hear all that shit happened and happened so close together, that's crazy as hell. Thanks for posting though, I appreciate it.

Having my heart put through a meat grinder during my first marriage. Then the worst part was, getting strung along for almost two years, and being stupid enough to go along with it.

that sucks dude, but you left out the part where you got caught masturbating

I can imagine what you are going through...

A few days after my wedding I was driving home with my pregnant wife and two of her youngest sisters in a back. It was late and dark and I was trying to pass a semi-truck as it turned on me and pushed me off the road. I ended up in a median, car rolled over quite a few times as I didnt even get any time to slow down and was going over 60 mph. I was in shock, so I ran out of a car and to the front passenger door to see if my wife was ok. She lost her consciousness and it took me a few seconds to get her to wake up. She asked in panic where her sisters were and I said that they were in the back seat without knowing. I helped her to get out of the car as she was bleeding from ears and had a broken finger and looked in the back seat. I stared at it for a couple of seconds with shocked and confused look, as her sisters were not there and the back window was missing. At this point I could already hear my wife screaming the names of her sisters trying to find them. I joined her, as it was dark I was trying to find the path of the car and follow along. My wife found one sister, who had a lot of broken bones, but was ok. I saw the other - youngest one, quite far away from the car, and called my wife. As we came close, it seemed that she was not breathing, can't describe her condition, it was really bad... Then all of the sudden people who were driving behind us came over to help and started getting us away so we don't run and look around. I tried fighting them because my cell phone flied out somewhere and I tried to look for it. I found it and called my parents in law who came about the same time as the ambulance and police. Medics put my wife and sisters on the beds and took them away. I didn't think I needed to go until they pointed to my hand with blood dripping all over. I had a pretty big cut, and I remembered my hand hitting the side window every time the car flipped as it slipped from the steering wheel over and over when I tried to grab it still trying to control the car... Don't know if I broke the side window with my hand or if I just hit it at the same time it hit the ground and broke...
I kept on asking the medics in the car if my wife's youngest sister was ok and they changed subject every time... Once I got to the hospital, they told me she died.

Its been 6 years and this is pretty much the first time I tell in more details than just "had a bad car accident"... I don't think you can ever get over an accident like this.

As far as I've been told, the semi-truck got away after stopping for a short period of time and seeing all the other drivers stopping to help us. They never found him. We were on a border of WA and ID, so he probably went to Canada as he sounded Canadian on cb with another truck driver who spoke with him.

That's the worst I've been through and probably the only moment in life I wish I could go back to and change. I don't remember for how long, but I stayed in the bedroom 24/7 after the accident... Didn't want to talk to anybody, couldn't even come out and look in the eyes of my new parents in law. They are not blaming me and were not, but I just felt guilty for being at the steering wheel. I was not driving for a long time after the accident and still freak out whenever the truck swings on the freeway.

I was pretty hard last night, came all over the shirt I bought her at this tiny beach shop. It was worth the adversity of cleaning up the mess.

On a serious note, ^^ did happen btw...

I spent three years in the Japanese penal system for a fight I was in.
