So, I like to look at banner ads to see what other companies are doing. Long story short I ran into this site advertising a "green card lottery" for US citizenship -- usafis, did a search on Google for it and also found usagc and another site (no affiliate program on this one that I see), usimmigrationsupport.

I guess this brings incentivized offer to a whole new level. I'm waiting to see an offer for "tax amnesty" or "presidential pardons."

Not sure how much of a scam this is, but I am pretty sure that there really is a green card lottery held by the US Government each year. This service might just handle the paperwork associated with applying.

Imagine the CPC on presidential pardons....

The Diversity Visa program has been going on for many years. I have a few friends who moved to the US by winning this one.

During a month time frame (usually) applicants submit their details and a photo to the Diversity Visa website. There is a "lottery" draw afterwards. The winners receive notifications and they start the green card process with the US embassy in their country.

That's all. The thing is it can be done online by anyone when the subscription month comes. These sites are paddling their service like it offers "better chances" for winning when it actually makes no difference.

Just like many other schemes or e-books selling free services.

That's all folks.

Yep, there is no charge to enter this lottery. These are along the same line as the "government grants" scams. It's free to apply for a government grant.

Here is just a little more on the Visa Lottery and the US government's official warning on the scammers I forgot to add -

Diversity Visa Lottery: Read the Rules, Avoid the Rip-Offs

Being located outside the US, I've seen these banners for years now. At least as much back as 2001, but probably more. So, it probably is profitable as well.

Just yesterday I was actually thinking about running it. I found the USAFIS offer at Copeac (aff), it pays $32/lead...
