This might send Hellblazer into a frenzy

i dont understand, they had guns, how can you be guilty of first degree murder if someone pulls a gun on you. It sounds like he shot the robber 6 times. So what? The robber pulled a gun on him.

First degree murder is premeditated. You are telling me that he planned for someone to come point guns at his workers in his store? WTF is wrong with that Jury that deliberation only took 4 hours and not one person was like, no there is no way I'm voting guilty on that after viewing that tape.

Haven't seen the video (ridiculously slow internet) but I understand why that becomes murder. Maybe not first degree, (not familiar with the degree system) but definitely murder. Shooting someone 6 times is not self defence. When they're lying on the floor, bleeding to death, you can be pretty sure they're not gonna shoot you, especially if you can get the gun out of their hands (should be pretty easy)

Since when is it necessary to shoot someone you've already shot at close range?

This is what happens when you get a DA that was elected with one of his biggest supporters being a complete pervert, extortionist, and possible sex offender.

1st degree murder seems a little fucking excessive seeing how it wasn't premeditated. He got in trouble because the guy he shot was unarmed. It doesn't matter if his buddy was armed or not the way the law is written.

I hope they end up letting this guy go. If anyone deserves a pardon it's this guy.

To completely neutralize the threat. Hopefully, you'll never have to be in that kind of situation, because with that thinking you'll be dead.

If you pull a gun on me you've forfeited your right to live. Good riddance to bad garbage, and I hope this man wins his appeal.

Im totally for shooting the kid, but unloading the 5 rounds on him after was a little much, very execution like.

In the words of Thomas Sowell:

The biggest and most common talking point when the police fire at someone is counting how many bullets they fired. There are politicians, media people and— above all— community activists who can work themselves into a rage over how many bullets were fired.

If we stop and think— which of course the demagogues hope we will never do— it is hard to see any moral difference between killing someone with one bullet or with dozens of bullets.

People who have never fired a gun in their lives say that they cannot understand why the police fired so many bullets. If it is something that they have never experienced, there is of course no reason why they should be expected to understand.

But, even after confessing their ignorance, such people often proceed to spout off, just as if they knew what they were talking about.

It is very easy for a pistol shot to miss, even in the safety and calm of a firing range, much less in a desperate situation where a decision must be made in a split second that can cost you your life or end someone else's life.

To be 100% sure they are dead so they can't shoot you back? Who knows he could have a knife? He attempted to kill the clerk, the clerk has a right to shoot back as many times as he wants.

my dad is friends with a lot of local law enforcement (judge, detective, police officers) and the one thing he always says is, "if you have to shoot someone, make SURE you kill them" .. the legal system is so fucked that you can get legally fcked/sued.

maybe that's why he shot 6 times? (didn't watch vid, on phone)

"Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, God. I'm excited. I'm so happy this man is being charged with murder."
- Cleta Jennings, Antwun Parker's mother
She said that while her son may have been mixed up with the wrong crowd and knows that what he did was wrong, she knows that Antwun would never hold a gun and didn't have to die.

I love how she knows he wouldn't pick up a gun, but he's down to rob a store. Someone needs to execute her as well.

I lived in that area for quite a while and people like her kid and her family are the reason it's no longer a decent area.

and this is why we have shitty judges and politicians in office. this dumb cunt is voting. Someone sterilize this bitch already.

If you watch the video there are two boys. the one in the white shirt on the right I think is the guy who gets shot bc he just drops instantly and the other dude ducks out the door.

the guy in the white tshirt didnt have a gun in his hand, the other kid did who got away.

sorta interesting / weird case.

Video shows the two fine young men entering the store and Parker’s accomplice shooting a gun at the store employees. We then see young Antwun falling after being shot and Mr. Ersland chasing the other robber out of the store. When he returns, he walks past Parker who had been shot in the head and was lying on the ground. Mr. Ersland grabs another gun, a .380, and then shot Parker 5 times in the stomach. Parker died at the hospital.

hrm so he shoots kid1 in the head. chases off kid2. goes gets another gun and shoots kid1 again 5 more times in the stomach.

yea thats pretty much murder IMO. After reading a few different articles about it, it pretty much is murder. there was no reason for him to unload 5 more bullets in him from a different gun.

It looks like the guy shot the kid after the kid was already fleeing the scene. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks to be the case.

That's why this is a murder. The kid was not posing a threat when he was shot 5 times.

That's hardly self defense but more along the lines of vigilante justice.

I haven't decided how I feel about this yet, but you fuckers need to read--the kid he shot never had a gun (at least according to this article). Not during the first shot and not during the subsequent 5.

You get to carry a gun to defend yourself, not exact vigilante justice. The first shot was defense and totally legit. I'm not so sure the next 5 were. Might change my mind after reading some different articles though.

Edit: Watched the video--the 5 shots after the unarmed kid was unconscious is definitely not self-defense. It's an execution.

I'm down with the execution. He went into the place with the intention to rob it with his partner who had a gun. He took a chance to steal for quick gain knowing that an innocent person could get hurt and was a willing accomplice. He gave up his right to live.

Should charge his mother and father with negligence in raising a child and contributing to crime. Start with paying full restitution for the expense of the entire incident.

BTW did that dumb ass walk into the store and then in front of the camera put on a mask?
