Republican Debate

We don't actually elect the president the electoral college does the popular vote is just used to make sure that the electoral college matches closely with the poulation.... hence bush winning re-election, he lost the popular vote won the elector vote.

If you want your vote to count make sure you vote for the house of reps. and senators.

I'm aware of that, and assume everyone else is, too. I was commentating on the notion of voting as an obligation.

lol @ voters

Love that Carlin vid, It's pretty much my mantra at election time.

That man was not a comedian though; he was truly the #1 philosopher and visionary of our times.

i don't vote for goons, but I do vote. 3rd parties usually have some decent candidates when the top 2 fail miserably at picking someone decent. It's my way of saying fuck you to the assholes that spit out the same rhetoric year after year.

Newt Gingrich's only strong point is debating though, so if you expect him to be a better leader good luck.

His debating even sucked. He's all like "We don't even know who these Lybian rebels are. If I where president we would increase our intelligence capabilities." Really? Same ol' same ol IMHO. Grade A douche.

This election, I'll write in Ron Paul or Gary Johnson before I vote for anyone else.

And just my opinion, mentioning you support the troops followed by "but were not bringing them home anytime soon", is a really weak cop out. How many of these candidates are likely just pro-war for the sake of the pro-war voters?

What I can't figure out is why anybody would be pro-war anyway...

There is no such thing as pro-war voters... Elementary logic would tell you this in a heartbeat... There are only pro-war corporations.
