6 Mill Users Left Facebook in May

You think these numbers even remotely mean anything? What about the countless number of Fake profiles, innumerable AI bots and the likes working on FB right now.

I have no facts or brain cells available to back up this opinion....
But my first reaction was that the lost users have to have something to do with the fact that Facebook is taking aim at spam accounts, duplicates, etc, in order to cut down on spamming and BS all over the site.

i wonder how many of those were banned accounts. My girl's account got banned for absolutely no reason.

I know several people who have closed their FB accounts. Most migrated to LinkedIn because it's more professional.
A buddy of mine told me both his kids had done the same (both are in their 20s). The reason is because they were concerned employers would see their friends (mostly brainless females strutting and baring their cleavage), and think twice about hiring or promoting them.
Myspace became the trailer park of the social space. Facebook will become so in a few years.

LinkedIn allows for status updates, connecting to Twitter, has various applications, etc. so I can definitely see this happening.

Part of me cant see the reasoning, but at the same time I was probably the same guy who could see how google was worth what people were paying when they first went public. Would any of you guys invest your $$$?

First you need to define "left Facebook."
I see my friends deactivating their accounts all the time and 90% of the time they're back within a week or two.

facebook took myspace's userbase, so if this happens to facebook it's a different issue totally than myspace's death
And lol? Pretty much every fun, time-wasting thing you can do is a waste of time that's actually the point of these services. I know people who literally spend like 6+ hours per day on Facebook, everyday - it's not going anywhere soon.
Playing World of Warcraft is a waste of time but people still do it in their droves on a daily basis, the fact that it's a waste of time doesn't mean shit. Do people have to spend every moment of their waking life doing something productive? Nobody does.
