I don't agree with AA, but I thought most people were aware that it's designed to correct for past inequities. White people were never slaves who were denied playing basketball. Hence, making the comparison for anything other than humor is idiotic. There are way better arguments against AA than something as overly simple as this.

The answer is about the source of the funding... No, AA isn't right for anything, including athletics. It's not right but the basketball teams wouldn't exist if they applied AA to them.
