Americans! You don't need to pay income taxes!

This thing has been debated over several years. The people that say you don't need to pay have this great argument saying it's illegal, never officially passed as a law, blah, blah, blah. DOn't let them suck you in.

The flaw in their argument is that even though it was never passed, by the majority of Americans abiding by it and paying, it in fact became law by default, and if you have ever paid, you yourself have infact accepted that it is law.

Brandon, so ignorance = acceptance?

So if 99% of americans think the earth is flat then it is?

complete BS double think on your part... you do know that americans are paying 50%+ in taxes right? and that history shows when you go over 50% then social disorder begins...

Quit driving on my roads bitches!

I paid for them with my tax money. You didn't. So from now on you can walk in the ditches when you need to go somewhere.

Deliguy, I think it is state tax and tolls that pay for roads. Not the federal income tax, which the one in dispute.

Just for that I'm claiming the sidewalks to. Wanna keep this up? Pretty soon you'll be traveling via sewers. :)

Every gov't service worth a shit is provided by state and local taxes... roads, schools, police.

The FedGov gives most of us jack shit for by far the largest fee.

I am dumbfounded that so many people are ok with this.

If a private company ripped off Americans this bad for .000001% of this money, we'd have heads rolling.

Through most of the USA history up to about the last 60 years, we only paid $200/yr to the Fed (adjusted to today's dollars). I think $200 is a bit much... but hell, I'd be happy to aim for that again =)

karnul what do you think of having just 23% national sales tax on everything and completely cutting out all other tax?

You're quite mistaken. The Fed. gov pays for all interstate construction and maintenance, not to mention subsidizes nearly ALL state and local governments.

Here are just a few of the other areas your federal tax dollars contribute to:

  • the military
  • social security and medicare - bloated and worthless systems that we should phase out if you ask me
  • low-income programs/unemployment - call me heartless, but we should also start phasing this out as well, unless we really do want to become a welfare state
  • federal employee and veteran's retirement benefits.
  • education - not enough spent here. perhaps if we started handing a living out to welfare recipients and start using that money to bolster our education system, we wouldn't have quite so many welfare recipients...hmmm...
  • research grants, agriculture
  • other countries - sometimes foreign aid is necessary. most of the time it's a waste of resources that we could put to better use in our own country since it's almost always abused.

It's not BS..in fact it is 100% fact. If you don't believe it feel free not to pay and learn the hard way.

The FedGov didn't spend tax dollars on buidling the interstate system. This was paid for by BONDS! It's fucking crazy... just when you think there might be a service the gov't does right, you find out they couldn't afford it!!!

The FedGov does subsidize state gov'ts ---> but this is just ridiculous. What sense does it make to take a dollar locally, then blow through 85 cents in bureaucracy just to send pennies back to the place the money came from? In most cases this money should technically be called a BRIBE. If the states want $$ for highway maintenance they must pass laws the FedGov can't impose themselves... such as a speed limit.

I just don't get it.... The pentagon is missing 2 TRILLION dollars. The gov't freely admits to pissing away 85 cents on every dollar they collect. And yet... we still look to these incompetent meglomaniacs to fix our problems. If we cut gov't down to nothing, charity and the free market would solve problems faster, better, and cheaper than anything gov't has ever done.

For it. BUT --> I absolutely think that this is WAY TOO much $$$ for the gov't to get their greedy paws on.

Gov't is a dangerous force, it should be kept to an absolute minimum for safety and for quality of life.

====================

On a side note, I believe that the NST will never happen. The gov't LIKES being involved in your business, knowing where you bank, knowing how much $ you make and save, knowing who your married to, and now with RFID they are seeking to know your whereabouts at all times. The IRS is a great way to insinuate gov't into the people's lives.

Spoken like a true American patriot.

I agree 100%. Sad, but true.
