Why does everyone keep saying this? It would be the most boring movie ever made.

Act One: Kid on IRC tells friends he found a few high-profile sites with old exploits that were never patched.

Act Two: Kids on IRC using the exploit on other sites and posting results to public page.

Act Three: Kids outed by rival group and realize the FBI has their names. Kids stop and shit their pants.

Fin.

In fact, it would probably be a silent film. Unless you enjoy the sound of typing on a keyboard and slurps from a Mountain Dew can.

Lol; there is some truth in what you say of course... But you gotta admit the stage is bigger, hacking sony and shit, and then you'd be foolish to believe the story is complete.

Perhaps the story isn't just lulzsec... It could be a rivalry between people in different hacking cultures.

Edit: Don't forget, there are two reasons to hack; one to be a villain and the other to be a hero. These guys might be stupid but they were obviously trying to be heroes.

And movie watchers fucking love heroes.

this. Plus movies that are "based on a true story" or what not isn't always 100%. They always twist it up so it's an interesting movie.
