What supplements do you take?



ON pro complex gainer, creatine, Casein, Optimen (MV), fish oil soft gels, BCAAs.

USPlabs jack3d.

I'm looking out for a good antioxidant stack. Currently I just have fresh/raw grape & carrot juice a lot and eat apples.

Rhodiola is a herb that helps your body adapt to and resist – physical, chemical, and environmental stress. It sounds like some hippy bull shit, but when I take it I feel more alert and awake. Also, if I drink and take it before bed I never have a hang over in the morning. There is quite a bit of info on Google about it and T-nation cites all its sources.

OK, so my story is that I did some research (a lot) and decided to buy this product from T-Nation/BioTest (free shipping on first order gives a good deal).

But then I did more research and wanted it TODAY because I have a triathlon tomorrow. Since it didn't arrive today, I went up to the vitamin shoppe and got their 500mg Ultra product:
RHODIOLA ROSEA EXTRACT (STD. TO 5.4% ROSAVINS 27 MG, 3.6% ROSAVIN 18 MG, 0.9% SALIDROSIDES 4.5 MG AND 36% POLYPHENOLS 180 MG)


20 minutes later and I was simply smiling. Another 30 minutes and I was feeling near invincible.

Watched a movie, it eventually wore off and I was getting drowsy, took another capsule 30 minutes ago. And now I am simply excited to be writing this and just plain confident.

I've only done about 150mg caffeine today 12 hours ago before an easy swim... I should feel like a total diaper with my caff addiction. Nope.

This shit is really cool. If you're under stress, depressed, have a race coming up... look it up.

Googling studies using site:nih.gov rhodiola gives good info too.

I can't wait to get the higher quality stuff in so I don't have to ingest as much nonsense.

I saw a documentary on National Geographic a few weeks ago about Cordyceps and I wanted to try it since then. Anyone tried this mushroom? I've seen it in vitamin shops in capsules and tinctures. Apparently under its pure form it can heal certain types of cancer and many chronic diseases. Problem is it costs $7000 per mushroom if you want to get it pure and it's really rare as it appears only 3 days a year in the mountains of Tibet. Apparently It boosts strength, energy and stamina. The Chinese Olympic gymnasts used to take it.

Morning: 1x multi, 400mg 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, 1000mg L-Carnitine L-Tartrate, 300mcg 3,3-diiodo-l-thyronine (3,3'-T2)

Pre-Workout: 400mg 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, 1000mg L-Carnitine L-Tartrate, 4000mg Creatine Monohyrate, 1 scoop APS Mesomorph pre-workout supplement

Evening: 1x multi, 400mg 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, 1000mg L-Carnitine L-Tartrate, 150mcg 3,3-diiodo-l-thyronine (3,3'-T2)

...and 150-200g whey protein isolate, depending on the day.
 
Pre workout
1. (1) Hot Rox from Biotest. Pre-workout in the mornings. They recommend 2-4 per day but if i took that much I would surely die from sweating too much.

Post workout
2. (3) Fish oil caps - Also from biotest, called "Flameout" i think.
3. Either a Surge Recovery shake or a Grow! Vanilla shake with freshly cut strawberries.
4. with a scoop of Creatine for maintenance

Rest of the day I may pop Vitamin C tablets, occasionally ZMA ( T NATION | ZMA - Anabolic Mineral Support - Zinc / Magnesium)

Clearly I am a BioTest fan boy.

This is no shit on the rhodiola, just went through my first bottle and its now earned its way into my lineup. Someone make a re-bill out of this.

I've been on and off of it. I'm not sure if you're supposed to be consistent, but I try to go with the "use it as medicine" philosophy. I had a trip and my buddy's dog got into about 5 capsules too - it was fine.. but I was bummed. I wanted those for a hangover test.

Anyway, the stuff is good, but I still haven't figured out how or when to properly use it and with what. I do morning workouts.
