ill take a review copy, what are you offering as a review for someone who wants to self host it?

PM just sent!

I am now offering review copies to those who want to self host, as well. The reason I was hesitant at first is because I didn't want reviewers to experience poor indexing results, because they didn't install the script properly.

Okay time for a review.

Installation:

The installation was pretty easy. You edit a couple files, upload them, login to the admin area and update a few settings. You're good to go after that. From start to finish, it took me a couple hours. But that included deciding on a niche, buying the domain and waiting for the DNS to update, and researching the niche a bit for a couple paragraphs of content...

Admin area:

User friendly and very well documented. Easy to browse. Has a basic setup section where you setup the niche and such. A global settings section where you can manage page titles and meta descriptions. A results per page section where you can add some content to your pages so they're a bit more unique (in case you didn't know, this pulls data from the indeed API.). And an ad management area where you can, well, manage ads.

Indexing:

The domain was setup yesterday. So not indexed yet. I'll keep this thread updated when I can. Otherwise, you can keep an eye on the domain yourself if your interested in this. Http://socialassistantjobs.com

Monetization:

Of course this depends on how creative you are. But right out of the box the site is monetized using the indeed publisher program. And you can just paste some Adsense code and you're good to go. In the ad management section, you can add featured ads that'll show up above and under the job listings, there a re a few good offers around for this.

For me, this will work wonders for something I been meaning to get done for a while. I can't code to save my life, so this is an awesome solution in my situation. I am gonna go ahead and get the 5 licenses package, that's how much I liked it.

Question regarding the ad management section, is it possible to make text ads work as sitewide blogroll links? If so, I'm down to buy a license.

Thanks for the fast and detailed review!

will be leaving a review by the end of the day. Waiting to check indexed links. Need to figure out how to setup SEO'd links with it...

The ads are pretty much sitewide. They appear on all the search results pages (and there are ~120K of those if you set all 3 job categories). To see exactly what the ads look like, check out this page. They're on the right, under "SPONSORS."

Awesome, looking fwd to it.

What do you mean by SEO'd link--the .htaccess mod_rewrite stuff? Feel free to shoot me an email or PM if you're having issues w/ anything.

Thanks.

Setup was super easy. Just pointed my domain at the IP address dtang4 told me to and I was good to go. The control panel is pretty straightforward. In the Basic Setup you give a seed keyword, so the script can pull jobs targeted for your site. This is also where you enter your Indeed Publisher ID. You'll need one of these if you want to make any money from the Indeed Publisher program. Really, the basic setup is all you need to get up and running.

The control panel gives you the ability to change the look and feel of the site, too. You can upload a custom logo and upload some custom CSS if you really want to change the look. You can, and should, change the text that appears on your results page. There's some default text out of the box, but it's very cookie cutter. You'll want to spice this up beyond the default.

Within the next couple of weeks I'm going to mess around with the custom CSS to see if I can change the look of the site a bit. It's pretty bland out of the box. I also need to add some custom text beyond the default. I've yet to build any links to this site, but after about 2 weeks I have over 600 pages indexed in G. This could easily skyrocket once I customize the site some more and build some links.

For $15/month I think it's worth investing in. Even with the most basic setup I see the value in this script. If I decide to tackle more than one of these sites then I think I'll opt for the self-hosted install, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Thanks for the review copy dtang4.

Hey guys, sorry I've been super busy...

I've worked with the indeed API before, but this script is pretty awesome IMO. It completely integrated indeed into your own domain in a nice search engine style layout.

Plenty of customization options in the admin for Ads, text, campaigns, etc. It gives you the option to create adsense, CPA, etc so it's pretty diverse.

as far as pages currently indexed, I only have around 10 or so, but I'm working on getting more. Will report back with more info when things start picking up!

Thanks for the update. Feel free to send me a PM w/ your domain and I can take a look to see how to best get it thoroughly indexed.

Subscribing. I think I want to try this but need to gameplan the monetization. I think I'd like to funnel people through my own network of related affiliate links. Can I insert PHP in the Sponsors section (along with some sitewide links?)

Under the SPONSORS section, the ads that are created through the built-in Ad Management are displayed first. Under those ads, there is a free form text box for you to insert HTML/Javascript (e.g. links, AdSense, text). However, you can't insert PHP. If you get the Self Installation license, you are free to edit the PHP source code directly.
