This is absolutely true. Twilight is actually supposedly a "self-portrait" of the author and Bella is an empty character so that girls can picture themselves in that role. The author is also Mormon, and there and tons of references throughout to the Mormon faith and principles. It's not award-winning literature, but it makes teenage girls read, which is why I like it. The movies have a bit of eye-candy as well. LOL

Harry Potter is definitely better though - from a reading, movie and English classroom perspective.

Hell I've got kids so I've got them all on DVD. My wife and kids are watching all the movies in a row right now as a matter of fact before they go to to the premier.

My daughter and son have wands they got at universal last year. They are taking them to the premier....lol

I can tell you I've watched hundreds of movies that weren't as good as any of the HP movies so you will live through the experience.

alright, I survived. Other than not having any attachment to any of the characters because I don't know any of the story, the movie was pretty entertaining. The whole thing was really similar to the lord of the rings.

There's a sweet shot of emma watson's titties somewhat early in the movie when they're all falling and she stops them before they hit the ground. Rep to first person who gets that screenshot up here.

Pretty good movie. I had special passes to see it at 7:30 last night. Couldn't believe how many idiots were camped out waiting for the midnight showing.
Adults dressed as characters from the movie with their sleeping bags is a pretty sad sight.

I had only seen the 1st and 7th movies and this last one was really well done. Awesome effects

lol In my neck of the woods, folks had started camping out Wednesday morning. Tents, sleeping bags, and the works (along with a few wizard hats and wands, I'm sure).

I think it's great that parents are taking their kids to the entire series. There are lots of naysayers out there, but this series will become a classic. It will be remembered for decades.

Here's an interesting piece by John Scalzi (sci-fi writer):

Can the Potter Magic Be Replaced? - Filmcritic.com Feature

Summary: Hope Warner saved a few pennies over the years. The cash cow is coming to an end.

I haven't been a huge fan of the last few movies (those directed by Yates). But I agree with you... the effects have been stellar.

Fucking bullshit. How the hell they end the series with this lame, one of the worst movie of this series.

"SAW" end better then harry porter
