OC for the weekend: what to do?

I'll be in Orange County for the weekend, speaking at a conference. Never been before and wondering whats fun to do. Leaving tmrw pretty early and driving over from Phoenix (money on how many times I get pulled over). So I'll have a car. Any ideas? Or if anyone wants to meetup let me know via pm.

first of all look at the land marks and have a look at them. then Go shopping/ or to the market place where you can find lots of people. find out are there any festivals or occasions in the place if not. go to the near by places like beaches and fish for some time.

Newport Beach for the ladies and Laguna Beach for the sheer beauty. Check out thousand steps beach in Laguna Beach. It's one of the last areas where tourists haven't destroyed the coastline.
