I have been paying verizon $258 per month for two Android data plans plus unlimited talk and text.

I would like to cut back on some expenses and I think this Cell Phone bill is the best place to start. Any of you guys have any suggestions?

Heres creative method get a Line2 acct its like 90 bucks a year and connect it with a virgin mifi data plan for $20 a month. Theres a few mild inconveniences but as long as you have internet access you will be able to make calls. Or you could use the MIFI and get a free google voice account.

Are most of your calls to cellphones? If so go to Sprint or AT&T. They have unlimited calling to cell phones so just landlines would use your minutes. Check out pricing there and I guarantee you would save some money.

T-Mobile and Sprint will have the cheapest rate plans out of all the carrier's

I am with sprint and without my discount i get unlimited cell phone calling text and web for two phones for 159.99

T-Mobile's unlimited is like 129.99....

(these are assuming the two line you already have)

I've got virgin mobile accounts for my kids and they have android phones. Unlimited everything is like 40 bucks a month per phone.

Can't figure out why people are still using verizon/sprint. Doesn't make sense even with the phones not being "free" with the monthly pay options from the pay as you go folks.

Because Verizon's 4G is fast as hell and many people are grandfathered into the unlimited data plan. The 4G is so fast (speedtest.net peak speed 15mpbs) it gets close to my home internet speed (18mbps). Great for netflix and tethering.

I love my thunderbolt, but being grandfathered into the Verizon unlimited data plan is certainly what's keeping me around.

Sorry I don't have any input on cheap plans though! Been with mine too long.

There's gotta be a catch...
No catch, I've been using it for over a year. SIMple uses Tmobile's network. Tmobile has unlimited data prepay plans too... 50$/mo for upto 100mb at 4g, 70$ for 2gb at 4g... then drops to regular speed. No taxes, no names/ssn, just pop the SIM in.
