Imagine if that Army was the only thing between your nation and annihilation.
Imagine how big your red, white, and blue-painted head must be...
Imagine if that Army would leave you alone, help you build roads, schools, bridges, and your economy if you only stopped killing them - and then they went home.
It's that 'went home' part that no one has seen yet with US bases...
Imagine if that Army was only their because your Govt sponsored terrorists killed their citizens on their soil.
LOL! That doesn't even explain 5% of them...
Imagine if you were on the Gold standard and that Army came in, took your Gold, and left.
You mean WWIII? The invasion of America?
The wolverines would win in the end!
Imagine if the Chinese found where we store the Gold and took it in a mass overnight raid overwhelming all defenses.
I know they've got a few soldiers 'n all, but c'mon... China taking over Ft. Knox is just a silly, silly thought. I'd be far more afraid of them slipping a Nuke past our defenses (even though China doesn't have a nuke program) and nuking ft. knox instead.
...But that's probably why smart people like RP would insist on keeping the gold spread out, like at all the different federal reserve banks instead of in one single location.
Imagine if a Gold eating bacteria were released on your soil.
The moment a successful test of said bacteria were held, the FBI/CIA/DHS would be all over it and either develop a way to wash or neutralize that bacteria (alcohol should do it....) or diversify our standard into lots of different precious metals. (Or most likely both.)
Do you all think the world is nice and fluffy? You think that everyone will just get along if it were not for the US? Do you think the US invented war?
No, no, and no. But I DO think that your mentality is so swayed by our countries' propoganda that you can't see these simple solutions above to your unlikely scenarios.
Look, we've got
SOLDIERS deployed in more than 150 different countries. (And some of those countries we have many dozens of different bases.) That's not just the number of US embassies nor patches of US soil; that's the number of countries that we could easily mount an offensive on because our troops are already there!
Even you have to admit this sounds a bit aggressive. All those guns in so many different places...
