One of my main sites (6year old site too) got hit hard 7 days ago by google. Traffic dropped by 50% the past fucking week
It looks like it just came back today. I did add rivers SB Bomb the other day. Not sure if it had enough time for that to be a factor or not.

You over optimized and/or didn't have enough content on your home page. PM me your site and I might be able to give a more informed diagnosis, but can almost guarantee it's one of the two.
What do you think google consider over-optimization ? What percentage of keywords?
I would also like to know what you mean with over optimized the site. 2 many backlinks with one anchor or what did you have in mind?
